Posted December 9, 200618 yr comment_192050 Well, after a long wait, and some miscommunication, I finally got my car back to my garage. My step dad drove it home, and he was sad because he knew how much work we put into it, and it was only running on three cylindars and wouldn't drive straight. The car was so perfect before I hit the curb. So, I sadly dove into tearing her down. I'm almost done gutting the whole interior, the dash is all that's left for the most part. I took out the tail lights, the tail light panels, the license plate light, and took off the hatch. She's becoming a shell, and its tearing me up.I know this is what has to happen, and I know that thanks to David (Zs-Ondabrain) I will have another Z soon.Three years of work to finish it, two weeks to wreck it all.Oh well, I guess life goes on.- Ian. December 9, 200618 yr Author comment_192052 We're not sure yet, I think it was from sitting outside in the cold for three weeks. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22564-im-breaking-my-own-heart/#findComment-192052 Share on other sites
December 9, 200618 yr comment_192053 It almost sounds like it might have a blown head gasket if it's running on only 3 cylinders. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22564-im-breaking-my-own-heart/#findComment-192053 Share on other sites
December 9, 200618 yr comment_192059 Sorry to hear your shell is a wreck. Be glad you were't injured and get to work on a replacement. Did David give/sell you a replacement shell? December 9, 200618 yr comment_192061 I sold him my yellow Z that you've most likely seen in my gallery. I need the xmas money and the poor guy was breaking my heart. 3 years and it's detroyed in 1 failed turn of the steering wheel. He's parting it out to help pay for the yellow Z car. I gave him a hell of a deal that he could'nt refuse and it turns out that the parts needed on the yellow Z is exactly what he has ready to go on her. He'll have her on the road in no time at all. after he gets her running and over here, we're gonna instal the works on her. power windows, locks, shaved door handles and poppers, all the goodies a young man needs to truly enjoy the ride. Even if it's sitting still.Dave. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22564-im-breaking-my-own-heart/#findComment-192061 Share on other sites
December 9, 200618 yr comment_192065 Thats a heck of deal Dave!! Ian I'm sure it has to suck to gut your old ride, But as others have said you'll have a fresh start with the car. And it seems you and Dave have some plans already in the works for the new one.
