zbane Posted December 13, 2006 Share #26 Posted December 13, 2006 Hey Tommo, just get some old kid's clothes, stuff 'em with rags and shove 'em face first into a corner. On the other hand, you could make an adult sized one, strap it into the passenger seat and go for a spin.QUOTE]I think it'd be much more entertaining to strap the doll either to the roof, or clinging for "life" from the hatch, or windshield... EScanlon Posted December 13, 2006 Share #27 Posted December 13, 2006 Hey Tommo, just get some old kid's clothes, stuff 'em with rags and shove 'em face first into a corner. On the other hand, you could make an adult sized one, strap it into the passenger seat and go for a spin. I think it'd be much more entertaining to strap the doll either to the roof, or clinging for "life" from the hatch, or windshield... And don't forget to wear your helmet!! http://zapatopi.net/afdb/ And for those who don't remember the original discussion: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16699&highlight=helmet I can just imagine the cop's face when he pulls you over! TomoHawk Posted December 28, 2006 Author Share #28 Posted December 28, 2006 I was told by a custom car builder friend... those dolls in most cases are used to hide flaws from the the publics view......:devious:That's a sarcastic comment. A blanket or any object could easily be used to cover a flaw; and I appreciate most flaws in older cars because that's what gives them character!People put them in because otherwise the car would be empty, and one might wonder if it was driven by ghosts. Otherwise, it's just a cold, soul-less bunch of metal, wood, rubber, and fabric. People do the same thing with train sets, model boats& airplanes, dioramas... What good is an empty scene where you'd normally see people?
TomoHawk Posted December 28, 2006 Author Share #29 Posted December 28, 2006 Try "naughty corner dolls" "timeout dolls" "pouting dolls" "shy dolls" "shy kids" or "tantrum tots"Thanks Jim & Mike, for the interest & support. Irregardless of all the lesser comments from people who need to grow up, I was able to find some interesting information on all the above names, and one document describing the construction of the doll: Craft article Even eBay.au had a couple auctions of these kinds of dolls.
