January 14, 200916 yr Author comment_271137 Hi all, Another busy day (I've got the week off) I had my manifold machined across the gasket area, it was pretty rusty and I didn't want the hassle of a leaking manifold. I also made the oil line today for the inlet for the turbo,I made it out of brake line, also got a Tee made up. Edited January 17, 200916 yr by Noddle added picture of finished oil line Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22606-what-did-you-do-this-weekend/?&page=2#findComment-271137 Share on other sites

January 17, 200916 yr Author comment_271385 Hi all, Yesterday I was checking out my ebay purchase of a RB30 injector rail and injectors (I was after the injectors for my turbo installation), and I noticed that all but the end 2 injectors lined up, so I though this may be useful as a fuel rail for my L24, so after some bracket removing, shorting, and some silver soldering, this is what was left. I'm after some injector clamps to suit my manifold, so if anyone got some for sale PM me. January 21, 200916 yr Author comment_271634 Some more bits for my turbo upgrade, rocked up today from the US. January 30, 200916 yr Author comment_272615 Picked this up last night, The guy I got it from has a workshop, and he works on later model skylines, so I assumed he would install new aftermarket parts, and I was correct, got this for $20. It's nice to deal with some one face to face, I brought a BOV over on www.skylinesaustralia.com, but the guy stiffed me. it was only $30, but that's $30 I could have spent on something else. February 4, 200916 yr Author comment_273141 Still adding to my collection, Got this on ebay last week, exactly what I was after, inlet and out let on the same side, plus the core design, from my research is better than the longer tube type for the same core size. February 18, 200916 yr Author comment_274735 Hi all, Still chasing bits for my turbo upgrade, I had some stuff laser cut, BOV flange, oil return flange, this will bolt to the bottom of the turbo, and two other pieces that I will weld (bronze) to the sump to strengthen it where the return will fit, all for $10. also I got 3 meters of 3 inch mild steel exhaust tube, 2x45 degree bends (mandrel), and a muffler, I'm hoping to use 2 x 45 degree bends for the down pipe, if there is enough room, otherwise I will have to get some 90 degree bends. I'm plaining on using 2 copper gaskets for the turbo spacer I need, so the turbo doesn't touch the exhaust manifold, this should work, the only concern I have is to make sure none of the copper is directly exposed to the exhaust stream. I don't want molten bits of copper going through the turbo. As you can see in the picture the weld on exhaust flange fits very nicely. so hopefully over the next week or two I will be finished, well, finish the turbo install, then I'll probably move the whole lot over to my other 240K. It's got a better overall body, and the car that I'm working on crab walks a little I'm told, which may be why the rear quarter was replaced years ago, before I got it, then I'll add my intercooler. After all this, I'll wait for the body bits I'm after, gets some nice wheels ,watanabes clones, 15x8 or 15x10 or so, depending what will fit, I haven't done much research on wheels yet, so when I do, I'll be asking some questions on here.. February 18, 200916 yr comment_274737 awesome, good to see it coming together.. make sure you grab some picks of the end exhaust (and some dimensions)..doesn't look like you are sticking in a centre cat, i bought a 5" hi flow.. but with my rb25 box.. not sure if it will fit under Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22606-what-did-you-do-this-weekend/?&page=2#findComment-274737 Share on other sites
February 18, 200916 yr Author comment_274777 doesn't look like you are sticking in a centre catCorrect, from what I have read, the turbo itself will quieten the exhaust a bit, well that's what I'm hoping, if it's to loud, I will add something later.
