December 20, 200618 yr comment_193205 Hi Bloxman,You could very well have a '75 280z with original '75 280z doors. These doors are different than later year 280z doors, as you have discovered. The most notable difference is the location of the interior lock pulls. On my '75 280z, they are 6" from the rear of the interior panel. On my '78 280z, they were a few inches farther toward the front of the car.If you had 2+2 doors, you would have secondary interior door releases at the rear of the doors that enables the rear passengers to release and open the doors from the back seat. They would be longer as well. One thing to consider if you try to use the later 280z doors is the differences between the weatherstriping of the two and how that would affect the fit of the doors to the body. The later doors have additional rubber pieces on the top of the window frame, and I believe, at the bottom of the door.I noticed you're not exactly in an area of the world where body parts would be plentiful. If you can't find '75 doors, you might consider having the outer skins of the '78 doors grafted onto the '75 frames, that is if the '75 frames are in good shape.I hope this helps and clears things up a bit.Good luck,Rob Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22691-get-your-tape-measures-please/?&page=2#findComment-193205 Share on other sites
December 20, 200618 yr comment_193238 Thanks Edloaded some pics in my gallery as requestedYou may or not have noticed I powered my locks also. How did you power the windows?Could you recommend a particular kit and ManufacturerBloxMy power windows were a one off custom job. I used an old door, cut the skin off so that I could work on the regulator. 81ZX motors and a little cutting / welding / fabricating. Sorry.
