Posted December 20, 200618 yr comment_193277 So....has Austin (member twistedsixx) moved to Rhode Island and decided to sell his car, or is this an eBay scam? I'm guessing the latter...1971 Datsun 240Z - eBayThe description of the car is pulled verbatim from the TunerZine article that appeared a while back on his car.TunerZine 240Z Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22705-austins-car-for-saleor-ebay-scam/ Share on other sites

December 21, 200618 yr comment_193304 I hope EBay actually tried to catch the "would be thief" rather than simply pull the ad-but they can't make any money catching thieves, and the theives don't steal ebays money, so I probably not. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22705-austins-car-for-saleor-ebay-scam/#findComment-193304 Share on other sites
December 21, 200618 yr Author comment_193314 I sold a 2.2-powered, fuel injected 510 a couple of years ago, and the same thing happened...a couple of months after my auction ran, the car appeared again, this time supposedly in Hawaii! Using my photos and the same description, zero-feedback seller, etc....eBay did the same thing that they did here. They pulled the ad, but never did anything (to my knowledge) about the scammer or his phony id.It pays to be cautious on eBay these days. If something seems 'funny', that's because it probably is.
