So....has Austin (member twistedsixx) moved to Rhode Island and decided to sell his car, or is this an eBay scam? I'm guessing the latter...

1971 Datsun 240Z - eBay

The description of the car is pulled verbatim from the TunerZine article that appeared a while back on his car.

TunerZine 240Z

That is a scam. Seller has a 0 feedback rating....Not to mention the photographs are copyrighted from TunerZine and used without permission.

Its been reported to ebay. Not that its ANY of my business..... I do lots of business on ebay and had a friend fall prey to a fake ebay sale like this..... SAD

GORGEOUS Z!!! WOW!

Darn, I missed the listing... because it's been removed! Good eye Brian. It is a beautiful Z too! I love the head on shot from down low, very sweet.

I hope EBay actually tried to catch the "would be thief" rather than simply pull the ad-but they can't make any money catching thieves, and the theives don't steal ebays money, so I probably not.

I sold a 2.2-powered, fuel injected 510 a couple of years ago, and the same thing happened...a couple of months after my auction ran, the car appeared again, this time supposedly in Hawaii! Using my photos and the same description, zero-feedback seller, etc....

eBay did the same thing that they did here. They pulled the ad, but never did anything (to my knowledge) about the scammer or his phony id.

It pays to be cautious on eBay these days. If something seems 'funny', that's because it probably is.
