Hi all,

I'm posting an official request for a new site logo and mascot. If you have graphic talent and would like to help out the site, we could use your abilities! The artist whos logo we choose will receive $50, a club Tshirt, and microfiche CD.

The new logo will be placed in the upper left of all web pages and also part of our main theme. I am currently working on a new look for the site and would like to make the new logo part of it.

The old logo (oval Z) will not go away and we would like to fit it into the new logo/mascot. Anything will do, but, the design shouldn't be too complex. It needs to be fun.... We will also use it on our new club Tshirt.

Here are some neat designs I've seen:

Since everyone was saying they don't like yellow zeds, heres something I whipped up........with yellow zeds.

It's an animated gif, because thats easy to do, but a final version should be in flash with proper fade transitions.

You have to click the picture to see it work, and its only set to loop once, so as not to be annoying.

One thing to consider before you go designing any Flash or animated logos and the like...

Personally, I have one of my older PC's stationed out in the garage - a perfect spot to have one when you find yourself in a technical bind. This old PC is just that - OLD. But it works just fine with "ordinary" websites. In fact, it works just fine with this one. Frankly, I'd like to keep it that way. Any money I have to spend on getting a new Garage PC in order to surf here just means LESS money available to spend on the Z. :/

JMHO

Animated gifs have are almost as old as the internet, and flash isn't that much younger. They worked on my pentium 166mhz that has been retired to the garage, when it was my only computer many years ago, so they should still work now.

You understand my point though... K.I.S.S.

I'm not too fond of animated GIF images. Flash is okay as long as it's done correctly and in small quantities (ie: a flash or a movement during a mouse-over event).

Anyway, the Japanese Anime (not animated), would fit pretty well because this is a Japanese car. :D

... I'm thinking it would be fun to generate some kind of mascot in the form of a ...girl, ..... :)

I nominate Sydney Moon-wait, this isn't the boobs thread... sorry!

What about something like 26ths graphical representation of Her majesty-only a little more modern "hotty" than the classic Geisha?

Does anyone out there have links to some good siloute photos or graphics of Z's?

Basically I am looking to find some graphics that would be helpful to those of us who want to submit a design for the website. Currently I am at my grandparents house for Christmas and all he has is dial-up ... so searching for these things has been VERY slow going ...

Can't wait to see what people come up with!

Japanese comic art, Wangan Midnight in particular would be a good source for the art work your looking for!

Slightly off topic but a similar discussion regarding Z comics. Some early progress artwork here for ideas:
