so I'm driving down I-5 in Everett Washington. and a beautiful 350Z is along side me, I look over and give him a wave and a thumbs up.

this OLD FART looks over at me like "who the hell are you, and what do you want?"

this guy was completely clueless as to the fact that I was driving the ORIGINAL Z. and that my 240 is the great grandfather of his Z.

what an idiot!!! :stupid: He was probably at the dealership, saw the 350Z, and thought "Hey, I'd look cool in that, What is it?"

But I still Wave and Honk at all my Brothers and Sisters in the Z-world, Even if they don't.

Hey 240Zdragon72, the game is in the states, and I've played it at the local arcade. Its pretty cool. Unfourtunatly you cannot play as the Z unless you beat the game, or if you know the code, which i happen to know, hehe. BTW, my car just got painted the shade of blue as the "devil z" from the game. I happen to prefer the "Initial D" game though, because its much more involved and you aren't just going straight. I have a blue Sileighty in that one...i figure its as close to the Z as i'll get in that game.

That is awsome Pennyman, I have Tak's car. AE86, I raced a guy with an RX-7 and beat him. (No mods on my car) He had a wing and I think some engine work. But anyway I'll have to keep a lookout for that game in the arcade. Untill then...Initial D will rule the arcade and make Dance Dance Revolution look like a kiddie game. Happy Motoring.

  • 1 year later...

Hey I just stumbled on this thread today. Sorry if its an old topic.

I have always tried to acknoweledge other Z drivers. Both when I'm driving my 71 Z or 79ZX. There can be a difference in the other drivers reaction. Some first gen folks wont check you out if you're in the ZX. Most first gens will notice the 71 and wave.

Or both can be ignored by some Z owners.

It funny if you get ignored by a guy in another 240 Z when youre in the ZXx and then see the same guy later and he waves at you when youre driving the 71!

Today I was going through a green light at an intersection where I had to go around a guy in a big truck waiting to turn left. I proceeded slowly cause I could not really see if anybody else was waiting to turn in front of me. When I cleaered the truck I saw it was a guy in a real nice silver 240Z.

He saw me in the Zx and we did a big wave.

I thought later if each of hadn't slowed down there would have been a big wreck with two classic Z cars.

well these days there are fewer and fewer z's on the road, and those that have turned into beater cars are mostly driven by non-enthusiasts. I see a few z's every now and then but you never know how someone will respond to a gesture because you don't know if they are a Z enthusiast or not. So it becomes awkward. But if I get a wave I will definetly wave back.

I have never seen an S30 in Ohio, since the 80s closed. Saw a few ZXs back then and the only (non-350) Z I know of now belongs to the president of a local Z club. and that's a 300... :ermm:

I do wave to the guys going to car shows ( see lots of cruisers on Friday & Saturday eves) but I have never gotten a wave back. Even at a cruise-in, about the only guys I get looking at my 280Z are some old farts who come over to "inform me" that my car has "fuel injection!" So I made a big 8x11 sign on paper, which was laminated, that says "1978 280Z." :devious:
