Well I thought I'd show you guys some photo's of what I got for Christmas for my car. My parents got my a Pioneer stereo for it that were going to have installed by Car Toys tomarrow, new shift and e-brake boots, a wheelskin ( 60 minutes to install!:( ) and a carpet kit for the back which makes it look much cleaner than without one which it didn't have before.

Thanks guys, I am pretty excited about the radio!

We just took it down to Car Toys to have it installed. Their going to first hook it up to the original speakers in the back and they said their going to see how they sound and if they sound like crap (which 30 year old speakers probably do) we'll have them replaced with new ones. I guess in order to get them, they have to take two panels out in the back so the clips that hold them on will have to be replaced so I'm hoping that won't be a big deal.

G'Day Austin,

Nice Xmas presents mate.

With the removal of the plastic panels in the rear of the car, don't just remove the hatch struts, remove the brackets as well. You'll find it easier to remove the panels without stressing them too much. After 30 odd years, the plastic can be rather brittle. Of course you'll have to use a length of timber or something to prop the hatch open.

Rick.

head unit image not showing up for me.

REALLY give them a stern warning about the fragility of the panels before they attempt to remove them.

bring them a hair dryer to warm/soften up the panels before they try.

even at room temperatures of about 70 degF it's easy to crack them.
