I've had a chance to make some small improvements around the club today. You'll notice a cleaner look on the main page and some of the day-to-day functional operations will be somewhat different. Most of these changes should be for the better, but like always, there are small things that may have gone overlooked. Please let me know if you find something by replying to this email.

Just wondering why I must log in to see the threads. No more skulking? I can still look at the classifieds without logging in, but when I click on the latest 24 hrs threads, it takes me to the log in screen. Was there a reason why?

Hmm, I had to log out to check this, as I have my computers set to never log out of this site. But after logging out I found that a non-registered user can browse the forums, but any of the sideboard links that are actually a search command (last 24 hours, last week, etc.) require login. So it appears that non-members can't use the search engine.

I'm not sure that this is a bad thing, might encourage more lurkers to join up. While there is a lot of good stuff that can be found here by browsing, it is the search engine that really delivers the goods.

Just took a step back to view the site as a whole. Only gripe I can think of, and only IMHO of course, is that the WELCOME TO THE CLUB box in the middle is a 'touch' big, and the TOP NEW STORIES just gets in the way and makes me scroll futher down to get to the forums, where I spend most of my time. I just minimize those boxes, and that solves it for me.

Having a look reminded me of all the hard work gone into it. Donation has been sent.
