Safari rally videos/pics

I've been looking around for a long while for some pictures and/or videos of the Z's racing in the Safari rally(ies), and was curious if anyone could help out my search.

Jeremy,

By far the best film footage of Nissan's works Zs on the East African Safari Rally were Nissan's own promotional films. They were made for the Japanese market ( Japanese language captions / titles and commentary ) and were shown in cinemas, dealerships and to clubs soon after the events were held.

Nissan licensed M3 ENTERTAINMENT of Japan to produce DVD compilations of the '68, '69. '70 and '71, '72 & '73 films last year. They are available as a two DVD box set or single DVDs with three films on each. The '68, '69 & '70 films concentrate on the 510 Bluebirds whilst the '71, '72 & '73 films have the 240Z content.

*MRBF-1038 = 68/69/70 ( total 51 minutes ) NTSC2 @ 4,725 Yen

*MRBF-1039 = 71/72/73 ( total 58 minutes ) NTSC2 @ 4,725 Yen

*MMSD-0020 = 2 dvd box set @ 9,450 Yen

I bought mine in Japan, but you might be able to find an importer that will obtain them for you.

Good luck,

Alan T.

Alan Thomas' picture gallery is by FAR the GREATEST I have ever seen in this fourm. I can't believe his incredible pictures. I lived in Japan for 3 years and never got to see some of the cars he had pictures of....to add to it one of my closest friends was an executive at Nissan there in Japan. I am going to call him tonight and ask how it was that I never got into that warehouse in Zama. I been to Car Rest in Zama City many times. Thanks Alan for the wonderful pictures, as of today I am planning my vacation to Japan so I can go to that warehouse in Zama City.

Talked to my buddy from Nissan. He told me that it is not common to get into the Zama warehouse BUT that he can get me in if I want. I will plan a trip, I got room and board at Yokosuka. As for the thread about the dream garage cars being crushed or sold off, I will ask my friend about it, he would know. The Z in the picture of course belongs to Johnnie (can't remember the last name), who used to be Mr K's secretary at the Gardena Headquarters. From what I understand she as since given it to her son. Anyway it always at the WCN put on by MSA. So no S30Zs were crushed. I would have loved to buy the L320 in the Dream Garage. Got the poster of the Dream Garage in my own dream garage.
