headlights not going out

Hello I'm new here, and ive read a lot of good posts. just wanted to pass some information on.after a month of trying to find out why my headlights intermitantly turned on while the car was parked, even after completely removing the headlight switch, i narrowed to the motorsport printed circuit fuse block "upgrade" it seems the back of the printed circuit board like all printed circuit boards have these very sharp nipples where there soldered to the board. since the wires are all ran across the sharp areas my headlight wire for the parking lights was pierced by the fuse holder for the headlight which in turn made my headlight come on even with no headlight fuse(getting power from the parking light circuit) hope this helps somebody my fix was putting a piece of hard plastic in between the wires and circuit board solders.

Welcome Mark - Good eye diagnosing that one. Intermitant problems can be the hardest to find. Kind of like fixing it, when it's not broke. I wish I had a nickle for every time I got something to work but never actually found what was wrong.

This would be relevant to this forum if the MSA fuse block was actually for the C110 Datsun 240K and not the HLS30 Datsun 240Z.

Wrong forum guys - try the 240Z as in ZEE or ZED instead of 240K as in KAY

Another reason why we wanted the 240K section renamed or moved somewhere else on this page:

Excellent point Camo.

I've also noticed the amount of "cross-posting" that happens. I'm sure that both groups would benefit.

While the Z has a lot of qualities/problems/quirks that span many different models and countries, the K car is pretty much limited to your part of the world. And if I have this not quite right, let's not pick nits.

Thanks for the tip--I appreciate the effort it must have taken to get to the bottom of the problem...I am looking into this upgrade myself, so if something similar occurs I'll now know where to look first!

xray, this is a good product just this small oversight all in all i am happy with it. also dont tighten the mounting screws for this fuse block really tight my failure here helped speed this along.
