DougN Posted January 7, 2007 Share #13 Posted January 7, 2007 Randy, curious if your planning to put the dealer-added side molding parts back on the car when its done, or if your going to leave them off? My 73 does not have them, but the 72 does, and while I prefer the look of the car without them, I can see where they do protect the car...
mally002 Posted January 7, 2007 Author Share #14 Posted January 7, 2007 Hey Doug,I am going to leave them off, I like the look better without them. How is your side molding attached to your 72? When I removed mine it was adhered with glue or tape, I assumed they would be screwed or rivoted, so I wasn't sure if this was a dealer add on or previous owner. Ed Posted January 8, 2007 Share #15 Posted January 8, 2007 I'm sure you already thought of it but take the hub caps off and store them in a safe place with the rest of the parts you remove. Are you getting a single stage paint job or a base/clear?

CANDYBLUE2+2 Posted February 2, 2007 Share #17 Posted February 2, 2007 I'm gonna copy thread #7 for my personal use. That is an awesome response if I ever heard one, KUDDOS to the author...And Base/Clear will far outlast and outshine any single stage job in my book. You gotta love that orange, to not change it, and it looks like you have a fine car to start with, nice and sound...Mine was the same orange when I purchased it in 87, then it went black (twice), now it has a nice 3-stage Candy Blue, hence the authors name..
