January 5, 200718 yr comment_194693 I quite bidding on E-Bay, when the started hiding the bidder ID's. Just too much opportunity for Shills getting into the bidding, and raising the stakes on their buddies cars, parts etc.I do believe that this latest move by E-Bay is an open invitation to extensive fraud.. which was bad enough to begin with. They are only trying to prevent any off-line sales or contact between/among the people that use E-Bay - to protect their profits. Screw the users....ffunny - this car was put up at no reserve this time.... hummm.... do you suppose he has a friend bidding? If you watch closely I believe you'll see this happen more and moreFWIW,Carl B. January 5, 200718 yr comment_194697 I have not quit using Ebay, but am seriously considering it. For the reasons Carl just stated and others. Just yesterday I got the Message from Ebay.ca, anouncing the new pricing structure for sellers. You can bet the ranch, the new prices will always be designed to generate more profit. Even the bidding process forces you to be a sniper. I had the experience of another collector doing an advanced search to find out what I was bidding on. I would do all the research and use my time. He would outbid me every time, until I caught on. Then I started sniping, got better deals and didn't cross paths so much. Sorry for going way off topic. January 5, 200718 yr comment_194707 The key to successful, low stress bidding is bidding the most you are willing to pay the first time, using a sniper to place that bid for you, and forgetting about it until the auction ends one way or the other. Anything else is an ineffecient waste of money, time and energy. Just too much opportunity for Shills getting into the bidding, and raising the stakes on their buddies cars, parts etc. When did they do that?! What a crock....Frankly, I think it was still a problem when the user ID's were shown. I was outbid on many "no-reserve" items at the last possible minute by a new user with 0 feedback.I agree, however, that it will become worse now that they are hiding this information.PS: That car is FUGLY!!!
