71' on Ebay

Yeah, looks pretty good. Must be a 7/71 or 8/71 build date, with that VIN. About twice as many miles as mine, the front emblem has been shaved, and it has a modern stereo. Amco rear bumper bar, and very vintage 6 slot mags.

Sure looks like a great car, assuming the rest of it checks out as rust-less as the parts pictured. But no mention of rust at all...

Yeah not bad. The rear overider is pretty standard but there are other issues about the car that may concern the most discerning buyer. As mentined the radio. Not hard to swap out for the Hitachi AM unit and they are around. The shift knob is a repro, maybe one of Nissans Repros that are larger. The muffler/tailpipe not OEM and the rear finishing panel is typically the wrong color. Most you see these days are. The real original color was not the color of the hubcaps but a lighter gray as well as the grill. I think they all darkened up over time. There something funky going on with the passenger seat upright and the engine compartment to hard to tell but not clenaed up real well. Other things that most people wouldn't notice but we do.

I would probably stay away from this one. As you know it always looks a whole lot better on a computer and then it shows up at your door.

Update - It was pointed out to me by someone else that the seller's feedback indicates that he bought the car in November on eBay for $8725. Not sure why he's trying to sell it so soon. I doubt it's a scam, since the record that he bought it a couple of months ago it is right there for everyone to see.

But if you go back and look at the pictures from THAT auction, you'll see the missing info - the car was originally blue, and the engine compartment still is. And while most of the car looks OK, the engine compartment itself is a bit shabby looking.

Considering the color change along with the other small issues, this would be an expensive car to restore to stock. Could probably still be a great daily driver, though. But the bidding is already as high as I'd want to go for a driver with non-original color. At least for us here out West.

So... not sure why he's selling it now, maybe his wife isn't as supportive as some of ours are.

This seller sure knows something about photography and subject presentation. It's a job well done. Y'all are correct that the information from the earlier auction is a good supplement to this newer listing. It would seem that the first auction went a bit 'pricey', at least more than I would have considered bidding. Interesting that it still has the same California plates on it too.

Doesn’t seem like he has done anything to it since he purchased it… not even bothered to clean out the engine compartment.

Nice photos for a photo album but not necessarily for selling a car….. Not sure about the paint, did he buff it out or is it just the photo?

Something seems fishy to me…
