January 14, 200718 yr comment_195393 I agree with Carl. I'm sure he will find someone willing to spend that amount for it. It's for sure worth it. He has the same exact tires I put on my baby. January 14, 200718 yr comment_195394 No my friend, you miss uinderstood. It was a joke meaning ANARCHY ,~if i'm spelling it right~, against Berret Jackson types who think wonderfull Z's like this Black Pearl Edition are not worthy of their prestige.i.e. I'm on your side.Sorry If I'm still coming across the wrong way. If so please help me understand.~Z~No problem. Thanks for clarifying. It's all good! January 14, 200718 yr comment_195396 From an investment standpoint that is good value. It's sure to appreciate with a minimum amount for maintainance. Even if it's conservatively driven, and not hidden away. I couldn't have one like that and not drive it. They don't show up in this condition too often and just might sell for that amount. I hope so. January 14, 200718 yr comment_195399 Unless this forum showed up, this Z would be lucky to get 14, STACKED!I don't think so-we are all broke (or at least I am), and indebted to our current obsessions-am I right? No, a car like this has better chances at Hershey or Auburn-two auctions that draw crowds of real people (and real cars). There are some stunners, and there are some real Pieces o c rap, generally parked next to each other, at these auctions. BJ is all about marketing and branding-they wouldn't dare water down thier reputation by offering a Z, not at this time, anyway. January 14, 200718 yr comment_195402 Never been to a BJ auction and not likely to ever go. Whole different atmosphere I think, from what I see on TV. I do go to Auburn, and enjoy it. At least you have a chance to bring something home without going over the top and regretting it before you get home. A slightly worn, but complete and documented Pantera originally bought by Ricky Nelson could be had for less than $10,000. in the parking lot one year. January 14, 200718 yr comment_195414 Did anyone see his yellow '77 280Z that was listed with a buy it now price of $16,500? That car was beautiful! The only problem is that I would want to drive it all of the time. If one had the money I guess buy both and park the BPE and drive the yellow '77 280Z with 42k on it. I don't find it... but if it's the car I'm thinking of - that was a real bargain.Carl B. January 14, 200718 yr comment_195419 Here was the link to the yellow ZAP car. I bookmarked it. I don't think it lasted 2 days. January 14, 200718 yr comment_195422 Thanks wannaz:Whoever bought that car for $16.5K got a super deal... but it shows us how much these cars are bringing when they get wide enough exposure. A 240-Z in like condition with like mileage would most likely bring $18K to $21K just as fast... (and I've seen a couple sell for $25K)..Cars like these Yellow and Black 280Z's - are where the smart money is going right now. Super clean, super original, exceptionally low mileage, documented cars selling for less than half what the cost to restore one would be.FWIW,Carl B. January 14, 200718 yr comment_195424 The yellow one has more miles than the BPE, doesn't have the stripe kit, which is NLA, but I think they're both very nice. The BPE has everything including the optional wheels and to me it should be priced higher than the Zap. Essentially, w/o the stripes, the Zap is just a yellow 77 280Z.
