Posted January 16, 200718 yr comment_195730 When I got my 77 280 someone had removed the fusible links on the engine compartment fender. I have put in 2 link holders and need to know what size to use. My 75 uses a black 1.25 mm (.049") and a green .5mm (.020"). My 77 has 4 fusible links, I guess 2 are replacing the shunt my 75 has. I have called around but nobody will tell me the size. They will sell them to me but pretend not to know the size. I would also like to know the size of the links on the battery cables. Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22953-fusible-link-sizes/ Share on other sites
January 17, 200718 yr comment_195788 Fusible Link Wire is usually sold by it's rated amperage, as reflected by it's color. Most people don't bother to know the associated size in square mm.At any rate - I think you'll find the answer you need at:Atlantic ZFWIW,Carl B. January 17, 200718 yr Author comment_195801 Carl, Thanx so much for the link. If you have any more links about the electric system on the '77 Z could you let me know. The alternator & the regulator are brand new & has been tested & the battery is still not getting charged. The battery is also new. The positive cable has been unhooked & a test light has been put to the cable & the post & the light doesn't come on so there are no open circuits. Should I look into the ignition relay in the passenger compartment?
