January 17, 200718 yr comment_195894 Seems like a good idea. Wonder what kind of flow restriction occurs after the filter is installed? Chris A. January 18, 200718 yr comment_195964 I would suggest there is not a lot of point fitting this unless your engine is absoloutly clean to start with.On the 2005 Safari rally at least one car retired because of an internally unclean engine block despite the motor being freshly built. January 18, 200718 yr comment_195991 That would go good with that magnet thing on the fuel line, the 'Tornado', and what was that oil filter thing that used a roll of toilet paper as a filter? January 18, 200718 yr comment_195995 Funny you should mention toilet paper. If anyone buys one of these, look for the APT seal of approval. Same as on the toilet paper I buy. January 18, 200718 yr Author comment_195996 IMO...just another wiggit to lighten your wallet! If you have a cooling system with that much dunk in it, its time for a flush!!!:stupid: TomIf you had read the article, it said the system was flushed and a brand new radiator put in. I would think not all new hoses, but a few new hoses. So that is coming through the old lines, thermostat and the heater core.I think that it is a good idea, and as long as you check it often if the filter is in place and watch your water temps, you should be good to go.Its just as reasonable to have one of these just like it is to have a fuel filter and an oil filter. You would think that because it is in a closed system it would be stupid, but having those $4 filters really helps prolong the life of the motor and really do clean a lot of stuff that you think that you would have never found. Why would a radiator filter be any different?I dont know. I just see it as a cool idea that has some benefits, even if you cant see it.
