Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I am in need of a balancetube for a L26 intake manifold. Mine is cracked and I haven't been able to locate one locally. Nissan dealer says that is not avialable anymore. Any of you guys that can help me out?

Thanks

Emil Stojanov

P.S. I am located in The Netherlands.

i recently pulled a 260 balance tube with an n36 intake and would be happy to make it available. i sent the intake off to be ported with the head and do not need the tube. i will take pictures if you want. you can email me through the link in my signature.

Can you supply a photo? We have all the variations of the balance tube but would like to see exactly which one you have as a European example.

Here are two pictures of my balance tube:

On top there are four holes.

On the front are three holes.

Emil,

It does look like the balance tube on my 1978 260z flat top carbs that I am restoring. I will have another look. Its more likely to be compatable than the US market balance tube, as I am in the UK. If it is, I'll see if I can help you out.

I am impressed at the yellow plating in your photos.

Emil,

Look on the underside of the balance tube.....there should be some casting marks. I have "Japan N30" on my balance tube...what have you got on yours?

Ian

I will remove it from the engine and check it. I'll be back...

Ian,

I removed the balance tube from the manifold and it has N30 on the bottom.

I am very happy with the way the engine looks with all the fresh plating. I sandblasted every part with a very fine powder and had them plated again. If you look closely they show their age (small dents from rust) but the overall picture is very nice. I also replaced all the nuts and bolts with stainless steel items (purchased a set from www.zcarcreations.com) and changed all the bolts of the carburetors with stinless steel allen head bolts. And then I broke my balance tube.....

Regards

Emil
