Posted January 30, 200718 yr comment_197387 I have a 77 280z with fuel injection. What is the difference between the Z injectors and the ZX or the ZXT injectors, I'm not sure of the last 2 but they came off a W24 manifold. Would it be to my advantage or disadvantage to try them on my 77 with an L28 motor. Just guessing I would assume they run richer to keep up with the turbo but am wondering if that would be to much for my motor. Would appreciate any knowledge or experiance anyone might have with this. Thanks. January 30, 200718 yr comment_197400 The 280Z, 280ZX, 810, and 80-84 Maxima all use the same injector on the NA engines. I don't have any experience with the turbo injectors but they do flow more fuel an I wouldn't put them on a non modified NA engine. The extra fuel would create a rich condition and would have adverse effects on you catalytic converter. I notice that you are in California, your car is a 77 so I assume you still have to smog check. January 30, 200718 yr comment_197412 It's my understanding that the NA injectors are 19lbs/hr while the turbo injectors flow 21lbs/hr. Would they work? If by work you mean mount the same and squirt fuel then yes, but if you mean run better then the answer is probably not, the extra fuel wouldn't be doing you any favors. I'm pretty sure the turbo fuel pump has a higher output as well.
