UPDATE to Two weeks and nothing

I appreaciate everyone's input from my earlier post, it was interesting hearing everyones stories and thoughts, especially from the shop owners.

Well,

I went by the shop today for a "pop in" and the first thing the staff said was "where have you been, we thought you would be coming by everyday" and then they chuckled about how all their "classic customers" are always visiting their cars. I was shocked, it wasn't the greeting I was expecting, I thought they would just try and brush me away. Then I was taken back to the shop area where I found my precious Z, they had finished the repair work, and were into the sanding process. They told me they hope to start shooting paint in two weeks. It was a wonderful feeling to see all the progress that had taken place in just only two weeks.

I guess all my dismay about the car not being moved for the first 2 weeks was.......(humbly) uncalled for impatients. The folks at the shop also said to drop by anytime to see the car, next time I'll take the camera.

Sooooo, hopefully in 2-4 weeks my Orange friend will be back home.

Excellent!

Take the camera and some donuts!

You know, this IS (the donuts) about the best thing you can do. My dad use to deal with a lot of roughnecks in the oil industry. He said two dozen donuts was enough to get just about most small requests done. A little gratuity can go a LONG way (especially when it's something you want done right). They might think twice about leaving a small detail left undone when you've been so nice.

Up here in Canada, we have Tim Horton's, and a round of their coffee and a box of Timbits (donut holes) will also do the trick...

P.S. That's exciting news about your Z-I remember when I got my first one painted-wish I had another one now <<SIGH>>someday...
