First, remember that it was and is not really a scoop - it's a vent. And when it was installed properly it covered large holes in the hood to let hot air escape. Without those big holes, it's just an ugly doodad.

Even with the holes its still an ugly doodad.

I have given some thought to getting one as my 280 runs hot even after I went though the cooling system. I may have to get a different Radiator. and try that.

This guy wont ship it. And like a lot of you I'm not sold on the look of it..

Don't do it! Get the radiator. I doubt if that thing would help with a cooling system problem anyway. It was designed to alleviate heat related fuel system problems on flat top carbureated cars. The only way I'd buy one of those would be if it was cheap like under 50 bucks and it would be to hang on the wall in my garage not put on a car.

Several years ago, while doing the Z Across America run(and if you remember the event it you understand my idea of what the word several means), I was driving the leg between San Diego and Gila Bend AZ, my car was overheating bad all the way, I was running it with the heater running full blast in the desert. Long story short, when I got my buddy's house in Phoenix, I looked up a radiator shop in the local area, I found a guy who build me a 4 core for my 78Z. Ever since that day, that car has never over heated again, what a difference the 4 core has made. It looks great too, mounts the same, can hardly tell the difference. Go for the 4 core instead of :sick: stupid looking hood thing-a-ma-giggy.

Basically I now think it looks great on a Wide Body Racer if it was done right, since it's so big and bulky.

But of course the overall design and theme of the car would have to be done flawlessly to make it even look right. :tapemouth

In other words don't Frankenstein it by putting a linbackers body on a 2 year olds legs.:hurt: :eek:
