September 4, 200717 yr comment_220632 Unknown make and size, but they are currently on a potential new member that I met this afternoon. My Z had those wheels on it when I found the car.Mine had been painted black at one time to hide the rust spots.Of course the paint mostly peeled off, really a bad look. September 5, 200717 yr comment_220683 Here are the original wheels I got with my car in 1976. They are Appliance wheels with new Eagle Alloy centers and new nuts I purchased from a place in OK. by the name of Massey Motors. September 6, 200717 yr comment_220820 Here are the wheels I put on my roadster, not sure what they are called. I pulled them off a Z in the junk yard. I was thinking of putting them on my 71 240z. September 7, 200717 yr comment_220864 Be very careful with those 'cross' wheels. I had a set on my Z, loved them, got them pretty inexpensively. I had them for about a year when while having a flat fixed, the tire shop discovered that one had cracked completely through the center of the face, running diagonally through two opposing lug holes. I had to switch back to my slot mags.Don't over-torque them!I really like the design, wish I could find a set in 15 x 7, but I doubt they were ever made. September 8, 200717 yr comment_220953 Here are the original wheels I got with my car in 1976. I have a set that is pretty oxidized in the center: then how do you keep the center section free of brake dust? September 9, 200717 yr comment_221019 Thanks Fun_in_ma_z, I think they look good too.ta240, I don't drive my car that much but cleaning them I just wash them with car soap and spray clean, the little holes are painted black so they don't show that much dust. As for polishing them, I used one of those Mothers polish balls with mothers aluminum cleaner. You have to do that only once to get all the heavy oxidation off and then just buff clean with the polish about once a month. Here in Pittsburgh we have a higher level of sulfer in the air than most places and aluminum oxidizes with sulfer. September 9, 200717 yr comment_221021 Higher quality brake pads also help minimize the amount of brake dust. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/23155-lets-see-some-wheels/?&page=9#findComment-221021 Share on other sites
September 13, 200717 yr comment_221502 Some people don't like them, but I went with 15" wheels from an 81' ZX Turbo. Take a look. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/23155-lets-see-some-wheels/?&page=9#findComment-221502 Share on other sites
November 2, 201113 yr comment_370810 My restored SSR Reverse Mesh wheels. They are 15's that came off my 71Z. The centers have been recently powdercoated in metalic silver 2 stage. The rims are freshly polished to a high shine. I also used new Stainless Steel hardware. They can be taken from me for the right offer. November 2, 201113 yr comment_370814 ^ nice I was looking at a set of Formula Mesh's 15x11 -27's but decided against trying to find tires and spending 2k for wheels. November 2, 201113 yr comment_370815 My set will not set you back $2K that is for sure. This set is 15X8, I will have to check the offset but when they were on the car they fit perfectly in the wells, without over fenders.
