Lot's of Envy

Well, it just snowed last night and all I can do is stare at my well covered Z and count the days till spring. (2 months to go!)

I envy you guys with the luxury of enjoying your Z all year long!

There is added envy and respect for those of you who have the technical know-how to maintain your car. I've only become a Z-owner again just 1 month ago and though I was fortunate that my car has no problems, just seeing all the posted problems and challenges out there for a 35 year old car creates a little fear factor for the future.

I better start boning up on the manuals and learn to do a lot more self service... Doesn't look like I'll have a choise.

Hi Dennis, welcome to the club. Is that your Z pictured in your avatar? Looks like a sharp car, post a few pics when you have a moment.

I live in northern Colorado and usually enjoy driving my Z year round. However, this winter has been a bear, lots of snow and lots of cold weather It's 30 degrees outside right now and only going to get colder tomorrow. Looks like my Z will be tucked away in the garage for awhile...I did hear that the old groundhog didn't see his shadow, so maybe spring is around the corner! A guy can wish, anyway!

Hi Dennis - Welcome aboard. I joined up not to long ago and have learned more about these cars than I thought possible. There's a great group of guys that know their stuff, helping answer questions whenever they can. Don't worry too much, us old guys can still fix a thing or two.

Welcome to the forum Dennis. Congrats of being a new owner of one of the best sports cars ever built! Plenty to learn around here. You can take solace in the fact that these are simple, reliable cars, so knowing the basics can get you a long way. Cheers!

Nice to see a lifeline out there to grab on to.

Like I said, I've had the Z only 1 month and only driven it 5 miles. Then the cold and snow and rain hit... Didn't even have time to take pictures . These posts are from the person I bought the Z from in North Carolina.

What a tease.. At least I know it's mine and now I can put away that 1:32 Zdie cast my kids got me years ago... Hey, it's the same color!... Oh well I'll play with that while I wait for spring........

I'll say one more thing... In just those 5 miles of driving thru town.. She turned a lot of heads... Yeah I can't wait for warm weather....!

Congrats D240Zu

Looks like a good find there :) I'm in MN. and my baby is waiting patiently safe and sound in her dry garage for late spring/summer too. I to am going crazy waiting. It sucks no question.

Don't be to worried about maintaining her. Thats what all of us on this site are here for. To help fellow Z'ers :) Also do some searching. There may be a Z club in your area too that can offer some help if you need it.

Congrats and welcome to the site.

Ouch! Bad weather sucks when you are a car enthusiast. It's been cold here in Western Oregon as well, but bone-dry. I've actually been driving my 240Z back and forth to work a fair amount these past couple of weeks. Sorry you can't do the same.

Anyway, welcome! And yes, we'll all help you keep that gem in good order.

Nice Z you have there D240Zu. I understand your impatience to take it out. I keep mine in dry storage several miles away from the house so I don't have to see it sitting there every time I open the garage. Mine probably wont see the road till April when its nice and warm and dry. I have been collecting parts and ideas all winter for a few little improvements when it comes out of hibernation.

I know how that feels. I got my car in July of 04, but couldn't drive it until that October because I couldn't affored to get it tagged and the insurace. That just about killed me. By now i've become used to it having to sit without being driven. Even when its dry I don't drive it in the winter cuz the heater is broken.
