ddezso Posted February 5, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 5, 2007 Does anyone know if someone out there is making reproductions of Z Car glove box manuals and factory service manuals? Or even better a good place to find originals at fair prices?I'd sure like to get those for my 70 Z but am having a heck of a time on EBay....Any good sources out there? beandip Posted February 5, 2007 Share #3 Posted February 5, 2007 You might try Troy Thacker at Too Intense Restoration, DatsonRestore.com Zed Findings , datsunzparts.com Charley Osborne comes up with this sort of stuff and is likely to be of help . The factory service manuals were hard to come by 6 years ago I settled for a Clymer shop manual specifically the one for 240-280Z&ZX on the front for 1970-79 . there are others but this one is the better one . The book How To Restore your DATSUN Z-CAR BY Wick Humble . I highly recommend it . I bought mine at Amazon.com I have used it extensively over the past years . All the best . Gary I just checked Barnes & Noble has the Wick Humble bood . Amazon no longer does. $17.
boyblunda Posted February 5, 2007 Share #4 Posted February 5, 2007 Currently advertised as new genuine part for 1973 240Z on ebay - most likely for a RHD vehicle.http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-240Z-Glove-Box-Manual_W0QQitemZ330084879777QQihZ014QQcategoryZ102336QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

jayhawk Posted February 6, 2007 Share #7 Posted February 6, 2007 Beandip, not to hijack this thread, but I just bought the How to Restore Your Z Car from Amazon a week ago. Got it 2 days ago. So Amazon does have it (Also got the How to Restore your Nissan OHC Engine book from Amazon at the same time). --Bob
onuthin Posted February 7, 2007 Share #8 Posted February 7, 2007 I have about 4 or 5 sets of early fsm's in real good condition that I have collected over time.I hate to deal with ebay and I am in a position where I don't have to sell them.A member helped me out when I needed a set so I would let a couple sets go to help out someone else.I have no idea what they are worth so if some members would let me know about what would be reasonable I would let them go. hls30.com Posted February 7, 2007 Share #9 Posted February 7, 2007 NOS FSM are on ebay constantly for $80 with shipping, but I don't see them sell often. In waiting and watching I have bought several excellent shape FSMs for between $25 and $65 with shipping, the suplement manuals are hard to predict, I have bought them for between $6 and $55 with shipping. Will

Zak's Z Posted February 8, 2007 Share #11 Posted February 8, 2007 I have been searching the forums, I recall a discussion some time ago about making a copy of the FSM, and recall someone saying it was OK to do so. I cant find that thread now.I have a '72 FSM that I made a photocopy of so the bodyshop I was dealing with would have a copy. In doing that, pages came out, and the front cover got ripped. Now that my FSM is not a showpiece any more I was thinking of sacrificing it to make a really good PDF.If anyone knows of a reason why I shouldnt do this such as copyright issues or something, please let me know. But if its cool I'll dig out my manual and start scanning it when I get a break here and there and although it would be too big to post here, I'm sure I could mail out a cd or even make it a web site.Any thoughts?Zak
hls30.com Posted February 8, 2007 Share #12 Posted February 8, 2007 One of the projects I have been working on-with help from 280 Master-for the club(granted, it has been on the back seat for a while), is a pdf of all of the S30 manuals.I am trying to buy reasonably clean, but not pristine copies because of that very issue-I don't want to cut up an excellent specimen to make the PDFs.Mike has a blanket copywrite exemtion from Nissan for the Early Z manuals, and ultimately, the PDFs will all go into a new club CD/er DVD.I currently have suitable copies of the following:240Z Undated FSM Single volume Chassis and Body (Gold cover) 1973 FSM1978 FSMIntroduction of Datsun 260Z Model S30 SeriesTechnical Bulletins covering 1969-1984 (made up of 8 volumes)S30 Parts Manuals USA CAnada 1969-1974Nissan Fast 1969-1984 (S30 and S130 to be used)280ZX Automatic Aircondirioner supplementI have a few others that I have loaned out, but until I get them back, I don't want to assume they will be back in time to be used for this project. If any of you have copies of the missing manuals-or any pertinant Nissan goodies to donate, to the cause, I am sure that a suitable thank you could be found and sent. Will
