TomoHawk Posted February 6, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2007 In the movie Smoke & the Bandit (Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed, and Sally Field), Cletus tells the Bandit that Sheriff Justice is chasing him because he wants to be the guy to handcuff a legend. What was the Bandit was famous for doing before he makes the run to Texarcana, TX? What did he do to become a legend?thx

TomoHawk Posted February 6, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted February 6, 2007 Didnt he make the kessel run in less than 5 parsecs?Mate, a Parsec is a distance (about 3 LightYears), and the Kessel run is about 5 parsecs long Han Solo that did the Kessel run. veritech-z Posted February 6, 2007 Share #11 Posted February 6, 2007 I've heard George Lucas try to explain that line by saying that (I'm paraphrasing here, it's been awhile since I watched the special features on the episode 4-6 dvds) "A fast ship was one that had the best navigation system, and could figure out a shorter route to get somewhere." Sounded like he was sort of waffling, trying to cover up for his technical error. What I always wanted to know is why he had to edit in Jabba the Hutt in such an amatuerish fashion...Jurrassic Park looked WAY more integrated than that, so presumably the technology to do it properly was available. On a side note, he also was quoted somewhere as saying they wouldn't release the original edits of the original trilogy on DVD since the special editions were how he always wanted them to be.
