February 18, 200718 yr Author comment_199693 i thought i found the problem but i was wrong it is still running realy bad i have replaced the points, plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor button, condensor, coil, i have checked the float levels i cleaned out the carbs i have adjusted the valve clearance but yet it is still missing realy bad. It still runs better if you give it a long spark. It is runing extreamly rich. i have used quater of a tank of fuel just siting in my drive way i am thinking it may be a vacume leak but dont know how to find it. i have tryed spraying areo start around all the gaskets but there is no change so i give up i am takeing it to the mechanic on monday Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/23200-newby-with-an-su-problem/?&page=2#findComment-199693 Share on other sites
February 20, 200718 yr Author comment_199914 i got it back from the mechanic today he droped the needles a bit so it would not run so rich at idle but it now runs lean at higher revs. I was wondering if the 240z su' are to small for the l28 motor? if so would a neadle change fix that?
