When I bought my Z, the carpet was completely stripped to the bare metal. I have a carpet kit for the floorboards. The rear hatch area is also bare, just metal, spare tire, and jack. From pictures of other Z's it looks like a a carpeted cover over the spare tire well? Can something like this be purchased? perhaps I can make a custom cover.

Might depend on the year. None of my spare tire covers have been carpeted, but they were all '71 240Zs. All of the covers in my cars have been plain fiberboard. While I've never seen a carpeted cover, maybe the later 280Zs had them that way.

Yes, they all had the luggage straps.

What year Z do you own? If it's a 240Z, there are 2 or 3 styles, all depending on the year. Luggage Straps were typical and Previous Owners usually removed them. Older 240Z's (70' and early 71') did'nt have the rear deck storage doors that the 71' and up have. That's 2 different kits right there..

Pics work great when asking questions and so does the model and year.

Good luck,

Dave.

I have a 77 2+2.. production date 3/77. here's a pic of a 77 rear interior I found searching the forums. So to me it looks like a piece of fiberboard with carpet over it. The vinyl over the rear wheel wells are clean and still intact in my car. I'm going to take some pics and post them up soon.
