February 16, 200718 yr comment_199536 It's not my style, but I can see the attraction. But do remember that when the time comes (eventually) when you have to sell the car, that paint job will likely hurt the marketability of the car severely. It may be VERY hard to find a buyer. February 16, 200718 yr comment_199540 Mais OUI!!!If you're planning on racing, that is definitely an eye-catching paint theme. I'd like to see shots of the complete vehicle, roof, hatch, hood and 3/4 views.Ou absolutement NON!If you're planning on driving it on the street...well, it may be a bit....flamboyant? But maybe if you have your hair dyed in the "Flock of Seagulls" style but using orange and yellow....well then it would be okay.Deux FrancsE Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/23304-new-psycho-paint/#findComment-199540 Share on other sites

February 17, 200718 yr Author comment_199573 Woah that's controversial! Do not worry it's gonna be vinyl I have it for free! It's just that I want to save enough cash to have a pro paint job in 2 years from now. The car is sound but spray patched, so the vinyl will focus the attention instead of the off colour panel, that's for sure! I don't drive under the rain, so I don't care too much about humidity trapped under the vinyl and I am not afraid of going different path. I am a big fan of the Porsche 917 hippy from the 70'... seen them racin' whoah!!!!!!!!! February 17, 200718 yr comment_199650 it's def a 70s feel... againt not quite my style, but it worksEDIT - why not try some ideas with purple? i've found that a deep, rich purple and yellow contrast each other beautifully... February 17, 200718 yr comment_199663 Something to know about driving a theme car: Driving a theme car is like wearing leather pants...If you don't have the right swagger, you end up feeling a bit awkward. Be ready for the cell phone pictures at every stoplight, and the inane "conversations" you'll be forced to endure with every joker that thinks his opinion matters (but probably doesn't even own a car-this will be the same guy who came to wherever you are in his friend's car that he can't stop telling people about). Bitter voice of experience...By the way, I like the scheme, it's bold and vintage, but not tasteless. Here are some pics of my old paint job (the white one) when the car was themed like a Veritech fighter plane from the cartoon show Robotech (that's where my screen name is derived). The flat black and camo design is the current paint. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/23304-new-psycho-paint/#findComment-199663 Share on other sites
February 17, 200718 yr Author comment_199666 I am having a theme life I run my own business in an over-assisted country, I have 5 kids, 3 of them are triplets, my daily driver is one of the most sedate lookin' car in the world with a little twist so... 192 hp from a NA 1800cc (it's a Corolla TS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LCy8ZXeQns , when I feel like waking up the neighbourhood, I hop on my 1980 XS Tracker, a bike that's louder than most Harley and with a bold statement, ain't on earth to get bored! So I think that the paint of Ol'Yellow will be one of the most minimalist move I have done in the last 15 years:bunny: BTW I have been watching your car on an other forum, and I am glad were going the same path... life is too short, Z are too wilds to stay factory lookin' Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/23304-new-psycho-paint/#findComment-199666 Share on other sites
February 17, 200718 yr comment_199670 That's a good looking motorcycle, I like the exhaust! Glad to know somebody was reading my paint job threads...there were like two regulars at Hybridz who got into it (one even painted his car with a camo theme I designed as well, but this one was a take on the BRE racing livery)...I'm thinking when it's time for a real paint job, I'll probably do something a bit more sedate on the outside, most likely back to white, but my engine/transmission assembly will probably be desert camo. It's going to be a fuel injected 350 chevy with a T5 tranny if all goes according to plan, and hopefully I'll be able to get my turbo on there as well... February 18, 200718 yr comment_199729 I really like the paint job. I could never put it on my car, but I do like it. It is really no different (though much more visually exciting) than the BRE replica paint jobs you see. I am not putting down the BRE paint jobs, but I tend to like wild colors and patterns.
