gdenney Posted February 20, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 20, 2007 Hi all,I have a '72 240z that I'm trying to replace some insrtument lights. On the fusebox cover, there are some warning indicator lights (seat belt, choke). Mine lacks the bulbs and I don't know what size to replace them with. Phillips lightbulbs lists the instrument bulbs as #1445, but the base is still too big for the fixture. I don't think I have an aftermarket item. Anybody have any ideas? (Dare I say that I need "enlightenment"?)Greg
Ramses Posted February 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 20, 2007 If you remove the cover and take it to Autozone or someplace similar, they have replacement bulbs on the rack. They are cheap bulbs and do not have much light, but they do work.

jerryh Posted February 20, 2007 Share #4 Posted February 20, 2007 If you locate a source of supply on these bulbs I would like to know also. I've searched every parts store around to include the dealers for a replacement.I have one good bulb and am considering wireing another light socket into existing one so I can save this bulb. If they are this hard to find now what will it be like in 10 years?
sblake01 Posted February 20, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 20, 2007 Are these the bulbs? Sorry about the picture quality. If so they are still available from Nissan. Part number 26261-89900 for about $1.50. They are bulb number 158 and we also have them at Ace Hardware.

I'll keep looking and let y'all know what I find.GD

Ramses Posted February 20, 2007 Share #8 Posted February 20, 2007 Factory Service Manual. FSM. I found them at Autozone in Houston. I have replaced all my bulbs that way. I guess I got the last of them about 1 yr ago. Sorry you are having difficulty on such a little project.
