Hey guys,

Unfortunately, after going through a divorce, I do not have the space to store my baby. I am going to try to sell her. The reserve is 7k.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300083780255&rd=1&rd=1

I dont want to do this and it makes me very sad, but when I get back on my feet I know that I will buy another one, because I do have the Z bug.

:disappoin

Wow, just make that thing your daily driver. Get rid of your other stuff before you get rid of that. That is a NICE car and those are hard to come by in that sort of condition.

Even try a friends house or something. There might even be some members who would love to hold on to it for you and take care of that thing as if it was a baby.

If you have to sell it because you don't want her to have it.... sell it to a buddy for $1, and make him sign an agreement to sell it back to you for $1 ~60 days after the divorce is final.

I knew a guy that gave his kids a Jaguar, Porsche, and a Mercedes for that very reason. :)

Sorry to hear you need to sell. I'm sure that wasn't an easy decision for you. I do have to say though that based on the reserve, and that fact that you didn't take the time to do a thorough cleaning inside and out, it's pretty obvious that you don't really want to sell the car. :(

Assuming it's really worth 7k, I suggest posting some more telling pics to increase the chance of getting closer to what you're asking. No offense intended, just offering an outsider's perspective. At the moment, I wouldn't expect to see and offer of more than $5500, and that would have to come from the East coast.

My 2 centavos.....

Enigma,

Your right. I really do not want to sell the car. It is my hope that if someone does buy it for the reserve, they will keep the car and cherish it as I have. What kind of photos are you talking about? I have seen some other Z cars sell for more than 7k and they were is worse shape than mine.

Thanks for the support guys.

Hey Bob, this is also my 2nd reset. :o

Chuck - Enigma is right, I'm eyeballing ebay and a couple of other sources daily. An all original in excellent condition may hit 8G - I was following a yellow series one in very good condition - it didn't break 5G. Location and timing are important as well as condition, unfortunately our emotional attachment to the vehicle does not factor into it's market value.

I have bid on several and I always ask to see the same things (ignoring what you have already shown): Battery tray and adjacent innner fender, frame rails, floors inside and out, dog legs, rockers, door/hatch closures, door bottoms, spare wheel recess. I have occasionally asked to see the tags - they show specs, but it also illustrates what kind of paint job/s if any was done. Hope that helps.

If I was as careful picking wives as I was with the cars...Hey. :)

Good luck.

Sadly, you can't sell your stuff off for a ridiculous price in hopes of hiding it. Once a divorce has entered legal proceedings all ownings are part of the impeding decree. If you try to sell an item for less than it's true value then the court can make YOU cough up the difference between that value and the selling price. Been there........

That bites! What about a gift to a relative ?

i don't know your situation but if u have to sell to give her half why not buy her out. if u have good credit get a line of credit at 1/2% over prime and make the minimum payments till u get back on your feet.

No offense, but he never said that he had to sell because he was in the middle of a divorce. He said that due to a divorce, he doesn't have room to store the car. I am guessing that the divorce is final, that he's in a smaller place, and he doesn't have garage space, etc etc etc.

I don't think that creative financing is going to help him solve that problem...

Ramses, that's a sweet car, and I hope it makes reserve. If not, I hope that you are able to keep it somehow.
