Brake Booster original finish??

Here is a pic of the new NOS booster. If you have Microsoft Office Picture Manager or another photoshop program you should be able to zoom in on it and get a good idea of the gloss factor for the finish.

I hope this helps.

Interesting - the Stickers are quite different...

Carl B.

Hi Carl,

I noticed that, also. The master vac decals on early 240z cars had two spaces, which were Unit NO. & Ser NO. This one of Bob's had Unit NO. & Lot NO. along with some other differences. Possibly his NOS unit was meant for the domestic Japanese market, or the Euro market.

Not to hijack this thread but I just completed reproducing this decal for the 240z. It came out perfect but I'll update later on the correct thread.

Dan,

If you are going to be selling the decals I will be interested in one. It makes a huge difference with the look of the booster.

Ditto for me too! That original looks like semi-gloss paint to me. I'll bet the Z community has more NOS parts than Nissan.

Is that Yellow Zinc Chromate on your Z?

Jeff,

Thanks. I got lucky with the sticker as it's the original. There was some discussion earlier about replacements, but I can't come up with the thread. IIRC, a suitable replacement has not been made. Do a search, and there may be more info I'm unaware of...

Also, search the photo archives here for brake booster, brakemaster cylinder, firewall etc. You may get some other examples to help out.

Good luck,

Steve

PS: My BMC is not original....
