Car back on Friday...Maybe

Well,

I went by the body shop today to check on my Z and everything was done except putting the glass back in...The car looked great, can't wait to get it back home. The shop said the glass guys should be there on Thursday, and then ready for pickup Friday..well see. I dropped it off on Jan 4th, so the time frame has worked out well, I am very impressed with the shop.

The original Orange looks great, It's wonderful seeing the car as it must have looked in 1973.

On a side note, while the 240 was away I got him a garage mate, a British cousin if you will, a beautiful 1971 Triumph TR6.....hey it's almost spring, I had to have a vert. Here's a pic of the TR6, and as soon as I get the 240 home I'll post several pictures of the paint job.

Take care all,

Randy

Excellent Randy!

I mean, about the TR. I, too, am "almost" back together with my Z. Sorry yours has taken so long, but I'm encouraged by how you describe the nearly-finished product. Enjoy the Triumph! The Z will be home soon....

Hi Randy:

That TR-6 is stunning... I've always admired the styling on the car. Also good to hear that the Z is finishing up within your expected schedule... We're all waiting on pictures..

You really should plan to take some time and drive that TR-6 down for the Sebring 12 Hour mid March... Nothing like camping out in the infield with a Classic Sports Car at the 12 Hour.

FWIW,

Carl B.

Randy,

I wish I could fit in a small car like the tr6. When I was in high school, 20+yrs ago, my neighbor had one when I had my 1st z. It was pretty cool to see both of them sitting next to each other. I hope you enjoy spring this year, with a convertible. I'm jealous.

Thanks guys,

And Carl, Sebring is in my "to do" list....but not this year. We will be near Tampa and St. Pete the 3rd week of March, hope the weathers good.

Xray, when your cars done throw up some pics, I'd love to see it.

Ramses, put a little oil and lotion on and you can fit right in..LOL You are right it's a small cage, my wife calls it the go-cart.

Hope to have pictures up soon of the Z.

I looked at a sweet BRG MGB.....But, the force led me to the TR6 :)

I mean come on, what a great, reliable, never have to work on, no leaking car the Triumphs are.....:stupid:

Seriously though, the lines on the TR6 are B E A utiful, and this one was restored 6 years ago, so it's basically perfect......except for the leaks, it loves to mark it's spot on the floor.

Cheers...as they say

TR6 definitely over MGB any day IMO! Always liked them, unfortunately I am also too tall. My uncle had a TR4 when I was just a tadpole -- he later had a TR7. I could just barely drive that wedge, but it was a nice car -- looks weren't my cuppa tea tho.
