March 6, 200718 yr comment_201354 You guys have it all wrong... If you want to get a reaction from the guy, you have to play his game. If you go for the gut, then he'll start throwing punches back at ya. To get the real story, simply ask a nice question... Hello, I am VERY interested in this item. Can you tell me what year it is from? And, do you happen to know how to install it in a 240z? I would like some pictures to help me because I've never worked with a car like this before. March 6, 200718 yr comment_201365 There is actually someone paying $41.00 for this radio (with 15 hours to go). I hope they know what they are getting.... March 6, 200718 yr comment_201366 Forget about dealing with the seller, you should be sending messages to the people bidding on it, to let them know its not a 240Z radio - then they retract their bid due to it being falsely advertised, that really annoys the seller I did it a few times on "240Z" items that weren't 240Z items. Like a Set of Mirrors - generic plastic mirrors - that were "original 260Z mirrors" because "there weren't any extra holes in the doors when removed" Somebody form the USA bought them for more than they cost new, and these were 30 year old corroded and pitted ones. Its not so much a case of buyer-beware, more a case of buyer-be-educated. March 6, 200718 yr comment_201369 Here's a copy of the response I got to my original email to eBay telling them about the "ring my neck comment. "Dear ---------, Thank you for writing eBay in regard to the email you have received from another eBay member. I recognize your frustration and want to address your concerns. eBay takes reports of inappropriate emails very seriously, and we'd like to investigate your report. However, we need more information from you. To protect the privacy of our members, we're unable to view the message from My eBay. However, the email that you received in My Messages should have also been sent to the personal email address that you have on file with eBay. Please reply to this message with a copy of the original email that you received and the email header (a string of characters that helps identify the sender) pasted in the body of your email. For security reasons, we can't open attachments. A header looks like a string of characters that helps us identify the sender. You can often find the header by using the "properties" or "option" function of your email program. If that doesn't work, consult your email program's Help files." It goes on, but the bottom line is I sent them the header from the original email and a copy of that original email. Maybe something will happen, maybe it won't. I'm not too worried about it either way. He probably just needs the money to buy some more crack. March 6, 200718 yr comment_201390 Oh sure, all we need now is another flame war here! Consider this guy might not know as much as we do about this car. We can give him a ton of $^!#, or, simply help him understand what he's got. It's fun to have playful banter, but, don't let it turn into a war....... And all this just because the face plate doesn't match the one out of a 72.... March 6, 200718 yr comment_201398 No flame war intended. IF (and that is the biggest word in the English language) the guy is reasonable, he SHOULD conclude that there are a LOT more people who know A LOT more about ALL the S30s than he does. Heck, I thought I was a know it all before I read EScanlon's and Arne's and jmortensen's....etc. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/23500-clueless-ebay-seller/?&page=2#findComment-201398 Share on other sites

He responded to what I intended to be a (1) helpful email with three rude emails. I'm sure I don't want him coming over to this site to chat. March 6, 200718 yr comment_201401 I doubt this is the first guy to sell something, on Ebay, that he knows nothing about... We tried to educate him, but, it didn't work..... My advice is to let it go... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/23500-clueless-ebay-seller/?&page=2#findComment-201401 Share on other sites
