zanthus Posted March 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted March 9, 2007 Okay so Sblake and I have been shooting PM's back and forth about my fuel system and troubleshooting but now I have an even bigger problem that I'd like some input on. My Engine is locked, the tranny is in neutral and the starter is out. the battery has a full charge and we cant crank it by hand. Now heres the kicker. If I was to wait about 2-4 hours I could go back out there hook everything up and it will try and turn over but no gas. And that is why I have been chatting with Sblake. beandip Posted March 9, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 9, 2007 Need background. the engine is frozen up from setting ? If so don't try the starter . have you put any oil in the cylinders to help there ? You are not affording much info . Have you tried the starter or not ? You can always put the trans in gear and see if you can brake it loose . the thing is if the rings are rusted to the bore you can damage the piston forcing the issue. Also the valve stems could also be rusted. If you stick a valve spinning the engine with the starter you would bend some valves and maybe punch a hole in a piston . Nigel1943 Posted March 9, 2007 Share #4 Posted March 9, 2007 Is your head gasket OK. The bores could be filling with water/oil preventing you from cranking the engine. Take out the plugs one at a time and try, if yes, install a compression tester and try. Mr Camouflage Posted March 9, 2007 Share #7 Posted March 9, 2007 if its efi and an injector is leaking it may fill a cylinder with fuel stopping you from cranking it over, but you should post more info about what sort of engine you have, whether its efi, did you just do any major work to it (head off, etc)... justaZcarguy Posted March 9, 2007 Share #8 Posted March 9, 2007 I am with the remove the plugs idea and see if there is something in the chamber(s).Beware, water and fuel will not compress like air / fuel spray. zanthus Posted March 9, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted March 9, 2007 Okay more info. I just replaced the head gasket and head. Gasket was bad an head was cracked, Already took the plugs back out.
