Hey Free-Z, its not that bad looks like the car has good bones.. I would think about attending to the rust issues..if your not going to build a show car spend some time and get it all fixed up and you'll have a great car...

hey thanks for the fast reply. no i am not really building a show car but not really a daily driver either. more of a learning hobby. i would like to do a street performance resto. a few extras but nothing extravegent. i think the worst rust is under the battery tray. i just put the battery in yesterday so i didnt get any photos of it. next time i pull it for a charge i will snap a shot and ask about it.

How about pics of the rocker panels, the front and rear doglegs, the flat area just above the tail-lights and both rear wheel wells.

That's just for starters, too early to declare it an easy rebuild, just from the shots of the floors, I'd bet that BOTH floors need replacing, you'll know once you get the tar-mat off.

From the looks of the under fender shot of the battery tray...I'd gamble that the front fender doglegs are shot too.

World Be Free, at first glance it could make you wince, but situation is normal. Do the thread search and you will find many threads about our friend rust. Pay attention to the frame rails and support rails under the car, and as E mentioned the rockers. If all of those are shot, could be time for donor shell. Any way, it will be good learning experience and it was FREE!! Have fun, I'm heading into the garage to welding now!!
