Early vinyl "pig tail cover"

Has anyone reproduced the vinyl cover for under dash wires on the passenger side of early cars? It was referred to as a pig tail cover in this old post. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9685&highlight=pig+tail+vinyl+cover

I was thinking that if there was interest, Bryan (who is making the reproduction early shift boots) might be able to make some of these as well. The cover appears to just be a square piece of vinyl with black snaps like on the ebrake covers. Does anyone have one of these that they can provide measurements of or possibly even send to Bryan to use as an example?

I have one off of my 70 if he needs a pattern. He is already thinking about making those and the e brake boot so, all would match.

I was discussing this with him, but I couldn't remember what it was referred to. If you have one that he can use as a pattern that would be great. If people interested in buying one will post here (similar to the shift boot thread) he can gauge the interest level. It sounds like we have two a total of two requested so far.

It's not square, it's a bit rounded on two sides. I've got one I found buried in my yellow car, which had the long pigtail fuse box. My red 240Z is a Series 2 with the short pigtail box, so it doesn't have one.

The grain of the vinyl appears to be a much finer grain than that of the early shift boot, but about the same weight of material.

The workmanship on mine is - frankly - pretty poor. I think the apprentices must have been assigned this job. Not all that well finished, nor accurately cut. Note that the two darts on the rounded edges are not stitched down. It looks like a really quickie job to me - cut it out, fold the edges, and sew it. And do it FAST!

Frankly, considering how sloppy the workmanship is on mine, I can't imagine that any two of them were exactly alike. The pictures and measurements below should be more than enough data to reproduce these.

I am supposed to have one of the pigtail covers and the emergency brake boot coming next week. So hold off on sending me one.

So you guys don't think the grain pattern should be the same on the shift boot and these 2 pieces? Hopefully others will chime in on this thread if they are interested so I get an idea of how many are needed.

If the full set - early shift boot, emergency brake boot and pigtail cover - becomes available let us know and I will take one or two sets for my Series I cars, depending on price. Thanks to you and your friend for making the effort to offer these. Would not concern me if the grain pattern were the same as the early boot on all three pieces, but that's just me. Gary D

Any body else gonna be interested in these items individually or in a package of all 3 pieces? (assuming they become available). Also they can all be done in other colors of leather or vinyl and different colored stitching if anyone is customizing.
