The Haynes manual quotes the 240Z as 165.2" in length so a 1:24 scale would be approximately just under 6.9" or 17.5 cms in length.

I have a number of diecast cars, of 1:18 and a couple 1:24 scale, and IMO, Anything smaller than 1:18th scale is too small to apreciate the details as they would relate to the real car. Some objects, like a shifter, are too fragile to touch. At 1:18, you can see lettering, lines on vent grilles, the texture of the leater seats. On anything smaller, textures and details need to be exaggerated to be reproduced by anything less fine than a laser.

Hey Tomohawk, I understand you're really into RC models? Do you know if there's a 240z body available anywhere? I'd like to get my hands on a 240z RC car and paint it like mine.

As far as the scaled die-cast models.... the 1:24's are better than a Hotwheel. Frankly, I like any kind of 240z model. I picked up one of the Franklin Mint models a few years ago and that's an excellent die-cast. But, I believe it's a 1:18?

Toecutter, that red model looks IDENTICAL to your ride.... I wish they had a yellow one for obvious reasons....

The Franlin Mint 240Z is 1/24. The best detailed 1/18 240Z I've ever seen is the Kyosho.

I am bidding on this to make a set of plugs for a pair of molds modified for a club project Tomohawk will be working on-making the pieces available inexpensively to build your own car in 1/10 scale-so you can race everybody else at the shows while you wait for track time! According to Tomohawk, 1/10 scale is big enough to put serious hardware and batteries into if you choose, but small enough to find inexpensive mechanicals too.

Please don't bid up the price-you will be affecting the final price of the body kits(there will be atleast two-a rally version, a stock version, and one to get NUTZ with!

sweet guys! i have been hunting for a 240z rc body for years! cant wait to see what you come up with. I was just about to sell most of my rc gear to help fund my 1/1 scale project. i may need to rethink that. i guess i will still unload all my nitro gear if any one is interested in 1/8 scale buggies. i have a killer hoped up ofna hyper7 pcr for sale . pm me and i can email photos and such. sorry to get off topic a little there! look forward to that 240z body! you guys rock!

Hotwheels makes many diecast models you'd like to collect. I have a couple Ferraris from Hotwheels, even though they're considered an off-brand compared to Burago, et al.

I think I saw a diecast 240Z model- the kind with the detailed engine (spark plug wires, radiator hoses, etc) somwhere for sale, but at $750, I preferred to get some full-size tires. I probably wouldn't fit into it, or i'd lose the car keys in the rug. :eek:
