first of all, i'm not a datsun guy, i'm a toyota guy.....

A friend of mine is having 2 old school datsuns...he ask me some help to find out places where we can get some informations.

his rides are :

- one 240 '74 with a 280 '75 engine in it...the only upgrade done at this time is 2 webber carbs insted of the OEM carbs

-one 280z turbo 1983 wich is actually for sale

The plan is quite simple make that old 240 go faster...

The budget is around 8k$...and i'll do almost of the job...

so where i should begin ??

Then instead of selling the Turbo car, assuming it isn't an automatic, and is in good running condition, transplant the drivetrain to the 240Z-very little rethinking to be done, very few extra parts to buy, and in a couple-four long days-or a couple of weeks worth of short ones, the job is done.

I'd second this. Pull the NA L28, drop in the L28T along with the trans and diff. Part out the '83 and sell the NA L28. Have fun with easy power gains from modding the turbo motor. With $8k to spend, you could have a absolutely insane car.

we've never think about this....i could juste drop back the L28 in the 280 to have a fully working car too....sound great...

and what about the OEM injection system of the '83...should i move to some Megasquirt or any stand alone?? ...i'm using megasquirt in 2 of my car already... ( probably need to swap the fuel pump too....just details )

i think the 2 cars have manuel tranny...

hum! i'm really happy about this plan....

so what are the commons upgrade to do in a L28T...i'll need a engine and turbo rebuild for sure...so what else ?? any weak points in a L28T '83 ??

what should i espect of a L28T ( numbers ) ??
