How much did you pay for you're Z?

And what do you think too much is tooo much? :surprised

$2,300. Not as good deal as I originally thought because the seller (bought on Ebay) wasn't exactly up-front about everything. That said, I still got a decent deal for the simple matter that the car has a solid body w/ minimal rust and is a strong runner....

I think we did this in a front page poll sometime ago. I paid $275 for my 78 seven years ago and it was a great deal.

according to the Window sticker and my Bill of Sale, I paid $4,220.75. Of course, that was in 1973 dollars....

I think the restoration/refresh might exceed that - by a factor of 3 or 4 or 10!...:-)

More than I should have.......

$900.00 on ebay in October 0f 04. I justified it to some degree with the fact that it had triiple Mikuni's. Still too much.

$ 35,000.00 and change... thru December of 06. Absolutely way too much. Still trying to justify it.:stupid: That is until I get in it... turn the key... Hear the engine fire up...Let out the clutch... then I am in Z heaven.

I bought mine in 2003 for $5,000. It is 99% rust free and has been very dependable. As for what is too much money for a Z car, that depends on what you feel it is worth - shop around, you will get a ballpark figure for the price/condition you can afford.

I paid $725 for mine back in 1990. It was little more than a rolling chassis. Since then, I've put about $7000 into it - give or take a few thousand and it's not even close to being finished. By the time I do 240 bumpers, body and paint work, different seats, a stereo, and brake upgrades, I'll have another six or seven thousand in it.

Those $10,000 "overpriced" 240Zs for sale all of the sudden seem like real bargains...

I got mine for $7500 in Pittsburgh in February 1976, I am the original owner.

Modifications are:

Rear window louvers in 1978 - about $100

Front air dam installed in 1978 - about $150

Rear spoiler installed in 1979 - about $150

New front stock finders and painted in 1979-80 the original color 302 green - about $1000

New covers and foam for seats in 2005 - about $150

Rear deck carpet in 2005 - about $ 75

Everything else is stock and are original parts. The car has 49K miles

I use about on all the prices because I am not really sure of the prices.

I did do some minor cosmetic changes in paint color to the grill and back tail light panel area, they are painted a gold color, think it compliments the green very well.

Paid $4,250 for it + $1,000 to ship it to me in Scottsdale plus have put another $3k or so into it......

A fine deal for the enjoyment and way better than the price you'd pay for the same vintage American muscle car...
