Hello all noobie here. I am looking at an 82 280ZX with 160000 miles for $700. The car runs well but lacks power, like its starving for air (Intake Problem). there is rust around the drivers and passenger floor boards with what appears to be an attempt to fix with fiber glass and putty. there is some rust around the rear wheel wells and on the frame under the doors. My question is is this car worth $700?

IMHO i would avoid it. since it's a ZX, i personally wouldn't be inclined to invest the time/money into it that it would require. the floorboards alone are gonna cost around 250 if you can find them. my $0.02

I tend to agree with Jason on this one, though some pictures of the afflicted areas would help. Those parts are available through Zedd findings, but I wonder what other "fixes" the owner has botched up. The engine problems could be atributed to clogged fuel lines, fouled plugs, who knows.

Just keep looking, and remember this car-you may end up getting it for spare parts.

From that car you would want the complete drivetrain (manual tranny) plus any and all wiring, gas tank, useable body parts (??), interior, glass, and wheels. Worth say $500. at a minimum, unless you own 3 of them already.
