Can anyone point me to a thread where there is a car for sale and no one tears it apart?

Every thread I see always has people picking the cars apart, are yours all perfect?

To me this looks like a very nice car, not perfect, but nice.

I was at a Z show one time and a guy started picking apart the chrome on my 64 1500 hubcaps, telling me it was the worst rechrome job ever. Shame they were never redone, it was just the way stuff was done in 64.

I asked him if his 1500 was nicer, and his exact quote was " I have never seen one before, much less own one"

Agreed. I do, however, consider it fair game if the description obviously misrepresents the car, for example, if it states "rust free" when there's clearly rust in the pictures provided.

I think maybe when you have "FRAME UP RESTO MINT" in the title of the auction you are asking for it if it isn't perfect.

I always love the ones that say 'recent restoration' and all they did was get the seats recovered and the car painted.

I just read the auction, no where does this one say no rust. It says restored, ok, some of us have different ideas of what that means. I see people on this forum say "fram up" and "frame off" restored.

I have never seen a Z car with a frame........

Here ya go, Stickerman-and I agree, I think the car looks nice too, but the description does not fit the bill. Check out the other cars at that shop-some of them are certainly frame off resto jobs...

Speaking for myself (though I believe others on this site would do the same), if I were to sell my car (ZX or other) on e-bay, or some similar service, I would list it as honestly as possible, even if my blatant honesty would cost me higher bids.

Never would I list the car as "Restored" unless I had the documentation (pictures, reciepts, etc.) to back it up.

Regarding the seller of the Z in post 1, they should know what a Frame Up restoration means, considering the type of vehicles they specialize in selling (Classic, as in "Napoli Classics")

Here's a beautifully done resto of an MG, check the difference in finish

But, to get back on the original post, I'd like to know more about the blue Z in the distance.
