Cracked Windshield

Hi guys, new to this forum.

Today I just got back to work on my 280z after a long rest. Long story short I cracked the windshield taking it out.

Where do people go for new windshields? And about how much should they cost?

Well, I sold one today for $60, but you can pick up a brand new one from Black Dragon Auto. I think they're $100 or something, but they only come with the tinted strip at the top.

I found another thread about windshields and it seems like some people have good luck with aftermarket glass and some don't. I guess the best thing to do is call my local autoglass place on Monday and see what they say.

Your local auto glass will probably not have one. At least they did not in Houston. I had to order mine from out of town. not that big of a deal, but it took me a couple of days to get that burned into my brain.

When did you try to find your glass? I put my new windshield in about a year ago and the glass company (I can't remember the name, but it's one of the bigger ones and they do all the work for my friends body shop) was able to find one for me in Houston that day. I think it was 125 to 145 dollars.

I have been quite happy with my after market windshield. It's not origional, but then again I am not going for an all original car, that is just to much money to drop into a car for me.
