Passenger side door window..See photos

I have no clue what to do about the window on the passenger side. I heard a "clunk" while driving today, so when I got home I pulled the door panel and BAM...the window goes slidding down....didn't break however.

There were two pieces just barely hanging on, the bolts were almost completly out and they were just dangling....(PO I assume did this) I went ahead and removed them and took the pictures of them. I pulled the window back up all the way and have it proped it up with one of the "arms".

I was going to try and put everything back, and even after consulting Wick and Hanes, I have no clue. I have sat out here and rolled the window up and down to try and see how it functions, but can't figure it out. Could someone please tell me how this works.

Here are a few pictures of the door and the window proped with one of the arms. Guys, I'm no master restorer, so forgive me for not using the correct termonology of these parts. Any help would be apreaciated.

Thanks,

Randy

the long piece in your picture is number 5 in carl's diagram.

the short one is number one but the trick is not to ( flip-flop/vise-versa) or otherwise attach number one to the wrong end of the piece with two channels wheels at each end. all in all, i recall 8 nuts holding threads exiting holes from the inside out; 4 at the crank and two each for the pieces in your photo. i normally leave these nuts almost tight and watch the action during the windows full course before forcing any one component into a commitment. grease those channels good and look through the catalogs and blow up diagrams for parts missing on your car because any one miscue can make you try to fix a problem that is not there....

this is one of those fix it deals best done 1 hour before lunch.

if it ain't fix i one hour your best off taking a break and attacking it with a clear mind (and a full stomach)

G'Day Randy.

Your problem is very similar to mine, except that the bolts on the guide channel broke off mine.

About all you can do is grease all the channels, replace the front sash and the guide channel and experiment with adjusting the angles. You should find that by sliding the guide channel onto it's arm, then positioning the bolts through the holes to be relatively easy. Adjusting the angles can be a very frustrating exercise. Be careful not to overtighten the nuts on the guide channel. They're notorious for breaking the bolts off.

You could try checking the other door as to positioning the nuts and bolts. It will at least give you a starting point.

Have fun and all the best,

Rick.
