Here is one from PPV TV show some years ago,this one is so nice,lots of Nissan testing S30 films are shown in this program.

I have seen test/development films like these,but this PPV program was first time for me.

This video is exactly showing how Nissan and Nissan Shatai made S30 for us!!

You will note most of cars in this film are proto type , some have different tail lights and some have different interior trims.

What I was surprised is, they started testing before tail light/steel wheel/quater exterior panel were settled down.

Or these are natural, car making is like this,nothing surprise.

I recorded and divided in short range,they all will be uploaded soon.

You will see wiper test with half cut body, freeZing Z is operating defroster for the front windshield,crash test, e.t.c.

Great footage Kats! I really appreciate you sharing and giving us an opportunity to see these videos. I have watched them several times now and I find myself wishing I could freeze the frames. Thanks for posting them!

I've read this interesting discussion about early Zedds (I have a 12/1970 240Z here in Germany. It has fresh air exhaust vents located on the rear hatch). And congrats to your fantastic cars and the video. Your car sounds excellent! Highest esteem.

What I'm interesting is:

how can one see, on what day a Z car was built end of 1969 and in the 70's? Or: how many days did the factory need to complete a car? Does this anyone know?

This summer I visited the US and saw two Nissan Fairlady Z (right hand drivers) from 1970. In the first view I could not find any differences to the US cars. Are there differences and what about the japanese VINs?

I am very interested in your car, is your car made for Germany? If so,I think your car has lots of interesting parts to compare with my U.S. 240Z.

Alan told me onece before,Germany 240Z sometimes has magnesium wheels e.t.c.How about your car:)

About the build date, we too, we do not know yet exactly.

Someday we wish we can find more precise information from NISSAN,

that is everyone's dream.

I want to know when my Z432 and 240Z had dipped in the swiming pool and when they have got their engines and when they were checked out from the final inspection e.t.c e.t.c....

About chassis numbers for Japanese S30 i.e. for Fairlady Z series, they are S30 and PS30 when the factory started making in mid 1969.

Late 1971, HS30 was available for Japanese people,at this time, chassis number HS30-10001 was the first one for Fairlady-240Z(or 240Z-L or 240ZG).

So, no HS30-0000X or HS30-0XXXX were sold in Japan.

This is my thought, I do not think there is HS30-09999.How many HS30s under #10000 were made for the world?

And I do not know why, in 1972, NISSAN started chassis number HS30-100001 for the car.

How many HS30s between 10001 and 100001 were made for the world?

Here are some numbers,they may not have test cars or racing cars.

1970 : 00954 to 04330 / 04501 to 04504

1971 : 04505 to 08328

1972 : 08329 to 11109 / 100001 to 101613

1973 : complicated!(due to model change but same "S30")

HS30(L24 engined in japan)

1971 : 10001 to 10436

1972 : 10437 to 12045 / 14001 to 14801 / 100001 to 100800

1973 : 100801 to 101537 / 102001 to 103262

PS30(S20 engined)

1969 : 00001 to 00072

1970 : 00073 to 00345 / 00401

1971 : 00402 to 00513

1972 : 00514 to 528 / 100001 to 100006

1973 : 100007 to 100008

Hi,

Here is a 1972 240ZG, this MAROON car is a very good one, very original car.

This car has a factory installed(in a production line) air conditioning system.

Did you know Fairlady-Zs were available air conditioning system from the begining of production?

I mean from 1969 the system was available but not available for PS30(Z432) nor S30S (Z)

In this system, an evapo is located in the dash,very smart.The control panel was a special for the air conditioned car.Most selecting valves and flaps are controled by vacum system.

And about the fog SW, in 1972 Fairlady-Zs,the far right is a black blank plate usually.If an owner chose a fog lamp system,the SW 25370-E8700 should be

installed there.

But, but, I have never seen 1972 fog lamp SW nor fog lamped car.

I have seen some 1969/1970 car have a fog lamp SW,but most of them do not have fog lamps, I do not know why.

My Z432 have got the fog lamps and the SW,this is the only one I have ever seen the car have real fog lamps.

Fairlady-Zs do not have a choke light nor seat belt warning light like U.S. 240Z.Fairlady-Zs also do not have a steering warning system(buzzer and SW)
