Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432

Hi Gavin , I have carried a dash , some Bridgestone Super speed Radial -20 , 4.5 J steel wheels etc ? But this time , I was so nervous because of the glass , it is fragile .

Of course they were in a cargo , not in a cockpit !

Today I did re-adjustments of the front bumper which I was not happy. This one is the earliest bumper which has only single stud bolt per side , and this one is not perfect shape compared when it was new . I want it to be more pointing on center tip ,  and the bonnet is also not perfect. I want the bonnet to be more flat or even pointing up on center tip .

I am now compromised , little bit happier than before . I loosened the bumper little bit downward to have more distance between the bonnet and the bumper.

I also have installed the rear side bumper which is the earliest one , without cut away near the bracket below.

One more tonight,

I would like to show this tape , this is a Nissan 8 track stereo demo tape .

It contains guidance of operations of the stereo system , a female voice talks to you “ thanks for choosing Nissan 8 track car stereo,  this stereo is very reliable under vibration condition.... to begin with, let’s adjust the balance of left and right speaker s , I will make a sound from the right , then left , and both ... “

And this tape is made by Clarion , Stereo system was made by two manufacturers, Hitachi and Clarion at that time . Hitachi doesn’t provide music , but Clarion was a brand of music , lots of singers belonged .

This tape , at the end , Nissan March is featured. I found this March was used in the film of “  development of Datsun 240Z “ at the end of its video , you will hear it.

@kats I love love love the 8-track. ? I really like the warm feel of the old radios.

I think the movie The Man From U.N.C.L.E captures the magic of the old radios in this scene.

I can almost taste that sandwich watching it. ?

I would love to find an Peppino Gagliardi 8-track out there. :).

Hi Gavin, I will watch the movie after my work !

The car HLS30-02545 , is my hero too .

I have learned so many things from the book written by Mr. Bill Reagan . It is simply amazing work of art  , fun to read and fun to look at . Even more , I have heard Mr. Paul Taylor has put a lot of effort for ultimate goal which he set . Mike at Banzai Motorworks did great job for the car .

I was inspired by this car , I desperately wanted to collect five original Bridgestone super speed radial -20 175 SR/14 .

It took ten years to achieve it , now they are in a warehouse. Funny thing I couldn’t stop myself using them , I enjoyed driving a few months  with my blue 240Z  . I ended up blowing one tire when I was approaching a tole gate !

Then I had to get one more old Bridgestone, soon I found one luckily.

Also I have learned from the book written by Mr . Wick Humble “ How to restore your Datsun 240Z “ .

I think there are countless people who have learned from the books like me do .

Kats I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, but old tyres are for display not driving on. ?

On my 72 240z when I replaced them after having the car in storage for many years when I was living in Europe (7+ years) I decided to replace all 4 tyres. To my shock I discovered they were from 1987! I couldn't believe how different the car felt when I put new tyres on it. It completely transformed the car. It went from a bone jarring hard ride to a soft complaint car. When we replaced them we noted the sidewall was starting to crack. I am not surprised you had a tyre blow out.

Hi @kats,  this is my only connection to Stratocaster's.  15 years ago I did a set of manufacturing drawings for a vibrato system that a guy was designing for vintage Stratocasters, he called it Xtrem Tremolo.  I got so involved that I ended up creating a full 3d model of his guitar complete with the system he designed, here are a couple of rendered images of the 3d model.  I really enjoyed that project, as it was such a change from my usual work of designing mining equipment. Thanks for reminding me, good memories

Cheers

Mike
