GuyI was thinking of getting Tabco doglegs for my car. I would be interested to know why you don't like them.TIA,Marty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/23968-total-restoration-project-71/?&page=6#findComment-249751 Share on other sites
June 4, 200816 yr Author comment_249759 Marty - I'm not sure why my Bodyman doesn't like them, but I do know he's a perfectionist and indicated that the fit wasn't good. I think a lot of guys on the forum have used them (made them fit) with some success.......you could check out some of the previous links to dogleg repair. Hell the dogleg on the car right now looks pretty good to me, but it's not OK with Chuck (and I want this car to be perfect!). June 19, 200816 yr Author comment_251225 The new clip welded in. Brand new OEM fenders and hood. The Arizona rear quarter completed! It won't be long now until the sanding, priming and paint goes on. This will be a concours Safari Gold Z! Another Z is saved from the Boneyard. The 240Z is truly a "real cool ride"! June 19, 200816 yr comment_251227 It is so great to watch the progress you are making. I have no doubt that it will be stunning when finished.Looks like the ugly rust monster has eaten through the lower sill section as well. I know it's not concourse but it would be wise to extend the cowl drain hose down to avoid the issue in future. I have brushed that area with copious amounts of fisholine in an attempt to prevent it happening again to mine. Make sure you make new cowl drain hoses as they perish and split causing water to drip into the footwell, behind the firewall jute and under the carpet jute as well...nasty. I think Enrique posted his mods in a thread a few years ago. If you search for it you will find some sound advise.Keep them pics a coming.
