Posted April 16, 200718 yr comment_206160 Hey, anybody win this auction? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=017&sspagename=STRK%3AMEDW%3AIT&viewitem=&item=270108222888&rd=1 I was the first to bid because of the parking light switches, where normally U.S. models have the blanking thing. I would have bid up, maybe not that much, but I had to go to the ranch for branding time and was away from the computer and am too cheap to place an over the top bid and maybe win for more than I wanted to spend. I am assuming this is an original part with the early defroster switch. I've never seen one on auction before. The overall condition of the choke plate, lever mechanism looks a little ragged though. April 16, 200718 yr comment_206173 Gary- I also wondered if any other board members had placed bids. I bid on it also. Came in 2nd. Not surprised though as I didn't place a high enough bid and knew it when I did it-------felt I had blown enough $$$$'s earlier when I won the bid on a set of American Racing Equipment Libre rims!! :classic: Was working on a center console repair when it ended. Just wanted it for the switches as the plate was quite a bit worse off than the one I have. Maybe some day another will appear for us to lust over---- I think all of your observations and comments are correct about it though. Jim D. April 16, 200718 yr comment_206176 Is that a standard setup for the 240 thru 73, if so might have one on the 73 240 that my son is starting to part out, his interior is prettyt complete! April 16, 200718 yr comment_206178 I believe those parts fit only 70-late 71. The console changed at that point, and so did the associated parts. I can't believe that acuction squeeked through... head in hands, chokes back sobs....Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/23978-series-i-parking-light-switch/#findComment-206178 Share on other sites
April 16, 200718 yr comment_206180 No kidding, Will. I'm trying to figure out how the hell I missed that auction! Never saw it until it was posted here. I'm pretty certain I'd have been willing to bid more than that! April 16, 200718 yr comment_206207 Alright, I confess, I was the auction winner. I wasn't sure if I would be congratulated or berated for what I paid, but it sounds like I did ok. The good news for those that missed out is I am open to trade offers for other early parts I will need for #237. I know that I will be needing an early map light cover for sure. Speaking of #237, for those wanting an update, after a very long and much delayed journey, I should be finally picking her up and bringing her home tonight, but that is another very long story that I will tell over the next day or two in another thread after I had a chance to look her over.-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/23978-series-i-parking-light-switch/#findComment-206207 Share on other sites

I am sorta glad I was gone for the end of the auction otherwise I might have been tempted into a bidding war. My car needs so many other things at this point, but like I said, I never saw one on eBay before and was kind of hoping no one else would spot it when I realized I was going to be out in the boonies when the auction ended anyway. I suppose I should have brought it to the clubs attention. Glad someone here got it for a good price. I believe the double switch is really is more of a curiosity than an actual North American model part, but would have been fun to have. I'm looking for a fog light switch for the dash too. The one that looks like the early hazard switch (toggle), but with the fog lights marking.
