June 4, 200717 yr comment_211309 I know you said you went through the entire EFI system, connector by connector, but are the connections to the AFM still any good? If those got corroded it would be bad news. June 5, 200717 yr Author comment_211366 I did clean them. Since its a connector that I could not get, I used emory cloth CRC to carefully clean the connector pins. I plan on working on it this weekend and go over everything one more time.ThanksScott Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24018-car-running-too-rich/?&page=2#findComment-211366 Share on other sites
June 5, 200717 yr comment_211367 Is your car a 'California' car? I had a bad altitude sensor a few years back and it caused the idle stay up when I'd come to a stop. I think we discussed that in a thread but I can't find it. Just a thought. A couple of the mounting screws I believe are actually ground points for the AFM itself. If those have gotten crudded up, again, you might have some problems.I did this for sh*ts and giggles, and cleaned it up, and it seemed to make a difference. Bad ground connections seem to plague every single electrical component of these cars. June 6, 200717 yr Author comment_211471 My car is not a Cal Car. I have removed the AFM before. I plan on giving it one more try this weekend. Will post once I get the results.
