I just got my car back from the shop where they adjusted the valves and now it seems like i am having problems when i try to maintain a low around town speed. Everything seems to work great until i stop accelerating and try to maintain pretty much any speed. sends my body into a rocking motion abck & forth until i hit the gas again and the it all ok again; which seems like nothing other than a good way to start raking in some speeding tickets. . By the way, i am in Calif. so all of the emission equipment is intact, there is a semi-high performance cam installed which is why the valves needed to be adjusted in the first place. The machanic did recommend a tune-up before i go for a smog check ...but i don't think that is going to be where the problem is...maybe i am wrong though. Don't know if it had anything to do with the valve adjustment and i don't want to seem like an idiot if i take the car back and the problem is due to something else. Looking for any help i can get ahead of time, so i will know what i am talking about with the mechanic and what things i need to ask about.

Thanks

Cheryl,

A tune-up is certainly a perfect place to start! Additionally, on an EFI system there may be some sensors that need replacing in order for the controller to respond correctly. I recommend you try our search function. There is tons of good info....although you may have to spend some time going through it. With the information you have provide about your Z's situation and knowing a tune-up is in order, it would be a SWAG as to what the specific problem or problems your Z has. Give the search function a try! There's just not enough information provided in your post to pin point the problem. Hope this helps you a little....and by the way, welcome to the club! Lots of great folk here.
