June 2, 200717 yr comment_211130 I really think its time they pulled more power out of these cars. 330-350hp would be nice. With those silver ground effects on the red car, I can't help but think it kinda looks like a 3rd gen Camaro Z28. June 2, 200717 yr comment_211131 Some scans off of FreshAlloy.com. The latest Z Magazine Vol. 4 just did a comparison between Cayman S and Nismo 350Z. Around Tsukuba Circuit time attack in dry considitons, Cayman S: 1'08.92 and Nismo Z: 1'06.663 I have a Silver Alloy on order. Anybody want to buy my 03 Track with only 6500 miles on her? PPW with Koni SA shocks & 350Evo sway bars. I put it in the classifieds here. June 7, 200717 yr comment_211566 I happen to like it. People who have seen it in person say it is very aggressive looking. I think it looks very Porsche like. Don't knock it till you drive a new Z. June 7, 200717 yr comment_211567 At the risk of upsetting others, I also think it looks ugly! And I can't fit in those cars!! Like the Lexus SC430 - my head would be 4" or 5" above the top of the screen. Same with the Honda Sports, and Mazda RX etc etc etc.At least I can fit in the 240Z!! I am 194cm (6' 4"). So my choices are dictated by the length of the Bod!!Good luck to those who like the 350Z and can FIT IN IT!!Regards, Jack Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24073-nismo-350z-story-and-pics/#findComment-211567 Share on other sites
June 7, 200717 yr comment_211584 I happen to like it. People who have seen it in person say it is very aggressive looking. I think it looks very Porsche like. Don't knock it till you drive a new Z.Mark,Congratulations on the upcoming addition to the Z family. I personally am not a fan of the rear diffuser but taken as a package the Z community needs to support this first effort so that there will be an incentive for Nissan to add more editions of future Z cars. Now if only they offered it in GP Maroon? June 7, 200717 yr comment_211590 Mark,Congratulations on the upcoming addition to the Z family. I personally am not a fan of the rear diffuser but taken as a package the Z community needs to support this first effort so that there will be an incentive for Nissan to add more editions of future Z cars. Now if only they offered it in GP Maroon? Thanks Bob. I agree the rear diffuser is a little extreme but when you realize Nissan had to build some many to get the body kit for racing. Then you realize it is more function than form. People I have talked to who have actually seen the car say it looks much better in person. Plus it will be pretty limited at only 1500 copies made. David M. who writes for Nissan Sport mag said this. After attending the launch of the Altima Coupe and '08 truck line this week, I was able to sneak in some seat time with the Nismo 350Z. Unfortunately, it was streaming rain, but that meant no other journalist was interested in taking the car out. First thing to mention is that the production quality of the body kit is first rate- the Nismo Z looks much better in person than any photo can show. For example, the details of the grille on the rear diffuser are lost unless you get to examine the car up close. Now thoroughly wet, I climbed into the cockpit of the Redline machine and fired up the engine. Great throaty exhaust note! Even better was driving it down the deserted frontage roads near the hotel. Strongest NA 350Z I have ever felt and while there were no places to sample its top end power, I did get to sample the Nismo Z's low end torque capabilities. We'll have a nice article about THAT and the Nismo Z's handling in the next issue of Nissan Sport Magazine! As previously mentioned, the cockpit additions for the US-spec Nismo model are limited. Subtle, but well-done, I enjoyed all of the details. You definitely know you are in a different and distinctive Z with this model. There was one surprising detail that I discovered during my brief drive, but need to check with Nissan on it before I write it up. Again, I had only about 20 minutes tops, before I had to return to the hotel and catch my flight out. But those were some memorable moments and I'll have to save the meat of it for the upcoming article. Still, when it came time to hand the keys back, I wanted to just fire that engine up again and head out on the road for home. Forget the flight! I could see my wife's face and my comment: "I couldn't help it honey, it just followed me home..."David MuramotoSenior EditorNissan Sport Magazine Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24073-nismo-350z-story-and-pics/#findComment-211590 Share on other sites
June 8, 200717 yr comment_211626 I want to like the 350z but it is so hard too like it.I had rather get the G35/G37. Much much better looking and much luxurious for such a small price difference. Also have AWD as an option.Though I think that they need to get more power cranking through the motor. Not much but they do need much more torque. For the same price and the new competition that is coming out by the end of the year, it is going to kill the 350z/G35/37/anything Nismo.I recommenced it to a buddy who is in the market for a car and I hope that he either gets a G37 which he said he had rather get from all the updates, or a Charger/300C SRT8.Or a Challenger if he waits till then.Shot, just looking around a little bit, it looks like a SRT8 or a GTO could run circles around the Nismo even. I wish that Top Gear would test drive the damn SRT8 around their track dammit. June 8, 200717 yr comment_211634 I love my 3-Fiddy! I got the Nismo exhaust, suspension and bodykit plus JWT intake. Its fast, fun, good-looking and sounds awesome...and attracts TONS of attention- I've never had a car that got more compliments. And at 6'2", 205 pounds, I have no problem fitting in it.... and here she is: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24073-nismo-350z-story-and-pics/#findComment-211634 Share on other sites
